This Season's Clothes are Awful!

I actually like the spring clothing.

I've bought way too much lately.

Gotta keep up with the times or I might start looking old. ;)

What's wrong with looking old? Most of us get there at some point, if we're lucky.
Actually, I buy most of my clothes at thrift shops, and I buy for comfort and utility. And I constantly get complimented on my looks. I passed from being a little bit weird to being eccentric at about 50, which was 11 years ago.
It's so much more comfortable, to feel OK in my own skin, regardless of what other people think, one of the benefits of being and looking old.
Old is not a bad thing.

I know, I am SOOO bummed! I've lost over 20 pounds, and really want to show off my new body. All I can find are peasant shirts that make me look pregnant!!!

when all else fails i go to old navy...i am a polo shirt kahki pant/shorts gal myself....but i do like the plaid long shorts....i hate my legs (kinda chicken leggy lol) so all my shorts are long.I hate to wear t shirts of any kind so 90% of my tops are polo style, even though i do have a few of those loose tops i wear with jeans sometimes.I have to hunt to find older women clothes in my size..I am 32, 5"6 and around 115 so I have to shop in the tennie bopper area and i HATE it...I do not want to look like I am trying to be 15 yrs old,it just looks silly to me, I mean jeez I have 3 kids!

hate how many of the new shirts all look like maternity clothes!
ITA.

My dd and I have been shopping for 2 weeks for new shirts for me and I've bought nothing. Everything is SOOOOO full and loose around the waist which makes you look like you're trying to hide a baby bump or more commonly -- has detailing designed to make your chest look bigger, which is the last thing I need. And where are short sleeves? Everything is sleeveless or has cap sleeves!

Yesterday we were in NY and Company and the clerk asked me if I'd found what I wanted and I was blunt with her. I told her that no, I had not because I wanted nice summer shirts that covered my upper arms, did not have detailing designed to make my chest look bigger and/or did not have jewels on it. She looked around and found one oxford style shirt, but it had a shiny finish on it and I had to show her how that was not a good option for a woman with a big chest -- the placket will ALWAYS gap and the finish just makes your chest look bigger.

I walked out of the mall with nothing but a headache.

It's a good thing that I don't keep up with clothes that are "in season".

I just buy what's comfortable and couldn't care less if it's "in" right now.

Much easier to shop that way.:thumbsup2

me neither. I never did preppy (I detest polos) at all. I like comfy clothes.

I have had no problem finding clothes except for trying to find a plain dark brown top (no tanks has to be short sleeve or 3/4 sleeve) and some tops to go with navy blue capris and pants.

I don't mind the high waisted shirts as long as they don't have a tie in the back, the tie reminds me of maternity. I have a few of the plaid shorts cause my MIL bought them for me. I'll wear them if I have nothing else.

I actually wear clothes that were bought years ago still because they fit good, they are comfortable and I like how they look. Since I never use a dryer they still look good too.
