This or that?

Here is what my daughter does in situations like this. She does Eenie Meenie Miney Mo.... And she lands on which ever one, and if she feels "But I really", then she goes with the one she knows she wants. Sounds like yo want October, so do October!!
My mom taught me to flip a coin, but pay attention to how you hope it will come out. Same idea!

I like your September idea, or even early November. I was looking at Halloween last year and I think the decorations stay up for at least a few days after Halloween. July just seems SO hot. On the other hand, you'd get to the parks that much sooner :)
But it sounds like you really want to do Halloween.

For hotels, I had the same choice-either Courtyard the whole time or split stay.
We're doing a split stay with Hojo/ DLH. It would be fun to stay at DLH especially if it's your last visit for a while and thse pool and slides are SO nice.
I think your son would also like the Hojo waterpark, and they have that nice garden pool.

September and at least the first half of October are likely to be as hot or hotter than July.

One other "thing to think about" for September- I don't know what dates you are eyeing but D23 is Sept 9-11th. While I understand it doesn't necessarily have a huge crowd impact during the expo itself, hotels will definitely be busy and expensive, probably including a few days before and after (when the parks may see a crowd bump as well if people add a park visit on to the beginning or end of their Expo trip- I know I plan to stay a few days after at GCH on the fantastic Expo rate!).

July is not that hot. It's always hotter in September and October.

Agree that a cheap, close hotel/motel to start then ending with DLH is the best way to go... Dole whips by the pool for the win!

I'd also lean toward July dates or September over October (unless it's the last few days of October).
