This October resort availability

I was just playing around on the Disney reservation site because I am weird, and there are still quite a few resorts available for most weeks in October, a standard at Boardwalk Inn!!! Most deluxe resorts are limited though.
Did they release more rooms?

Maybe a late discount? wink wink, nudge nudge...

Edited to add - it looks like more rooms available during the month than I saw previously. I could be wrong.

No late discounts, especially not with the availability you describe. Chances are, either some cancellations or some room blocks that Disney provided to third parties that they're now taking back.

Edited to add - I read my post again. Nothing was misleading. It looks like there are more hotels/rooms available than before, so i wondered if more were released.. Then I hoped for a discount, jokingly...wow!

I'm thinking a few people had multiple bookings before free dining was released then cancelled dates that didn't suit or had no FD. I'm still hopeful for a discount post 10/7 (current discount end date...)

Our dates are 10/6-10/13 and there is hardly anything left. We booked in November so we're good, but I like to play around and see what's open. I gave up hope for a discount long ago! Lol.

I know! It's a bad sign! Lol. Well, I knew it would be busy because of Columbus Day (plus Food and Wine, Halloween parties, etc). But we go when the school system dictates fall break.

There is also that huge Gartner Symposium that is the first week and includes some of your dates. I know they take up a lot of hotel space. Doesn't mean parks will be horrible though!

My dates are October 19-22 and the availablity have bene minimal but that could be our size and not the resorts are full (5 adults).

We are in the same boat, my only hope is that ADR availability was much better this trip vs our November trip last year. I know that free dining was during our November trip, but I would think the crowds for Columbus Day week would still make ADR availability lower.

I will take August over Spring Break anytime - the crowds are insane. You have to take it slow and know when to take breaks.

Yes! I agree... we live in southeast Texas, so we get the heat and humidity. We just won't get as much done as we do in the fall or winter because of the breaks we'll take! That's why we booked the Polynesian... great pools and that pineapple drink!

So funny we are doing a BWI/Poly split. We love the Poly - and the heat lets us spend more time at the resort.
