I just found out that two of my friends were killed in a car accident early this morning.

Just got some more news about this...

It seems they were traveling along a road very close to my house around 3 o'clock this morning.

The speed limit on this road is 30MPH, but is not at all enforced.

They crossed a bridge, and because of the rain, spun out of control and hit a power pole.

It appears that they were killed on impact (thank goodness,) but the passenger in the rear seat, who lives less than a block from me, was severely injured and is currently in ICU.

We plan on paying him a visit in the next few days, given that he is in stable condition.

This is such a tragedy. The reality of it all hasn't sunk in yet. Everyone seems to be in a daze.

They were the most fun-loving, upbeat, positive people I've ever known. I'll never forget the laughs we had together, and the kindness they brought to the world.

This sucks...

I visited the crash site memorial this evening.

It was incredible. The number of people of different ages and grades from the high school we all attended was astounding. To see a group spontaneously come together in the wake of such a loss was not only comforting, but necessary.

We all brought flowers, candles, and items with significance to each victim. It looked... perfect.
