Didn't earlier pictures show it buckled instead of completely separated? I think we are seeing the walkway as a part of the repair effort where the broken section was removed.

It's just amazing to see those picture and how close the ocean got to the building. Besides the buildings I do wonder what impact it will have on the turtle population there.
