but what is the difference between a DDE and a DDP??!! I think the DDP is the Disney Dining Plan, right?? Is the DDE a different plan?

Another question while I have you! I would like to do the DDP for myself, DH and DD. HOWEVER, my DD and I are arriving on April 4th (morning) and my DH is not arriving until April 5th( 9:30 PM). If we are DVC members, do we still have to buy a length of stay plan? I would really like to have our plan from April 4-11 (we are all leaving on the 12th together) for DD and I and April 6-12 for DH. Is this allowed, or do we all have to buy a pass for the ENTIRE length of stay?? I am sorry for asking such dumb questions, but we have never used this plan before, and just want to understand how it all works. I actually asked these questions to the operator when I was making priority reservations, but she had no answers for me because she said I had to contact the DVC membership office. Thank you so much!

DDP = Disney Dining Plan
DDE = Disney Dining Experience Discount Card (Available to AP holders and FL residents)

The DDE gives you 20% off at almost all Disney operated sit-down restaurants and lounges, including alcoholic beverages. It is also good at counter service at POP Century, All-Stars and Animal Kingdom. The card is $65 for a year, and is good or up to 10 people (all must be dining together on one check.)

Yes, the DDP must be for all people on the reservation for the length of the reservation, even if one is arriving at a later time. It is the same plan as the one offered by Disney as part of a WDW resort package, except it is a separate add-on for DVC...it doesn't require everyone to have the same type of park ticket, like the WDW resort plan...other than that, the rules are the same.

Also, you get the DDP for the number of nights of your stay. Not the number of days.

You have to have an AP or be a Florida resident to get the DDE.
If you do the DDP you will have the TS credits for your husband for the 4th and 5th. This would give you the opportunity to do a 2TS meal while he is there. The extra CS credits could be used for a breakfast. You might want to pay OOP for your daughter if you do the 2 TS meal. You will really only be paying for one extra days worth of credits.

Ok, so we would have 2 extra TS credits because my DH won't use 2 evenings worth of credits, correct? Then we could use those same 2 TS credits toward a breakfast or counter service? Wouldn't we still be behind in credits since the counter service is less credits? Also, could my DD use his adult TS credits so she could eat off of the adult menu for 2 nights instead of the childs menu? Ok, one more question, what is OOP? Thanks!

OOP = Out of Pocket. Rather than use TS for Breakfast (unless it's a character meal) you might think about the Signature Restaurants or dinner shows like Hoop De Doo that use 2 TS credits per meal.

Mary has a nice explanation over at www.mousesavers.com
