This may be a really dumb question, but

where can I find some small plastic zoo-type animals, preferably sold separately so I can buy only the ones I need?

My dd12 has a project she has to make out of a shoe box showing grasslands of Africa and wants to put animals in it.

Would craft stores sell these? Toy stores? I'm at a loss as to where to even begin to look!

department. You can also find them where they sell the doll house furniture and accessories.

Have fun with the project - my dd's love dioramas :)

We have a TSC (Tractor Supply Company) line of stores around here that sell really life-like animals too for her project.

Yes those stores but sometime TRU will sell the tubes of animals as well. Or a small family owned type craft store worked too!

Target used to have them sold separately-it's been a while since I looked. Also, check the "toy" section at the grocery store. Our store has them in a bag for $1. They aren't individual but for a dollar who cares.

Party stores have them as well....for goodie bags etc.

I don't know if you have any education store around you, but I've seen them there, too. :)

Our local zoo has them in the gift shop also..sometimes animals you don't usually see in re.gular stores

Saw them when I went to Target yesterday

I've seen what you are describing at farm supply stores. Guess I didn't look to see where you are, but if you have one close-by I'd suggest calling one and seeing if they have them and what types.

Target used to carry something along those lines too if I remember right.

We have them in the gift shop at the zoo I work at..about a billion different girraffee ones lo l and many others (We have a girraffee feeding station at our zoo so they are popular)

I found a tube of African Animals in the train area at Hobby Lobby. We found trees there too. She changed the trees a bit to work better with a pair of scissors.

My DD10 had a habitat diorama to make and chose the African savannah.
