I was checking flights from various cities in the area and why is it that I can fly from Omaha, Nebraska to Orlando, with a connecting flight in Minneapolis, for $100 LESS then I can fly from Minneapolis to Orlando??????

Because airfares, like golf, make no sense.

Ah, the joys of flying out of a hub. Prices are generally higher flying out of hub, you get a nonstop flight, so the airlines charge a "premium". The same thing applies to pretty much any hub. When I lived in St. Louis, a friend of mine and I flew to Denver to visit another friend. My friend lived in Indianapolis. He flew from Indianapolis to St. Louis, changed planes and got on the same flight I was on going to Denver, and his fare was $150 less than mine. He had two flights, I had one and he paid less... nothing rational about it at all.

I know - it's crazy. We can fly to Orlando cheaper than flying to Pittsburgh...but now with SW in Pittsburgh, that is happily changing! :)
