"This Isn't Disneyworld. . .It's Rainworld!!" our trip to WDW May 16-23, 2009

Cute update Becky!!! WOW, that's a lot of dolls!!!! My DH would have freaked if I ever took him there, shhh, he's afraid of dolls, good thing we had boys, huh? LOL!!:lmao: Thanks for sharing! Looks like a fun trip for the girls!!!!

Thanks Kristen!! Yes--dolls everywhere!! Brent was so nice to go with us and spend 4 hours there without complaining!!

Then this morning I bought us tickets to see Disney On Ice on Friday, Sep. 25th!! I had a special presale code and got 5th row seats for only $12 each!! The show consists of 4 favorite stories: Little Mermaid, Tinkerbell, Lion King, and Cars. Plus there will be a Disney Princess pre-show that's free to ticket holders--meet a princess and a display of gorgeous gowns. I can't wait!! I think I'm going to keep it a surprise!! :cheer2:

the ice show and pre thing sounds great!

several yrs ago my Mom and I saw a Disney show on ice w/ my older 2 girls. It was so FUN! What a great post Disney suprise and maybe belated b-day present to your self huh :goodvibes

the older kids have seen Up w/ my Mom...I'm looking forward to seeing it when it's out on DVD after hearing all the good reviews!

I need to come back and view your slide show later of the AG store. We love that store so FUN! My oldest DD has 2 dolls Josefina and Felicity, she even took her mini Josefina to Disney w/ us and DH photographed her all over the parks. My middle DD get's to pick out her 1st doll this fall for her 7th b-day she is looking forward to it!

Glad you are back safe and had a great time.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2for the Disney on Ice tickets, we went last December in NC to a Disney on ice show it had the same characters and princess dresses on display, I wonder if it's the same show?

Hope you'll share pictures of that too.popcorn::

Love the pics!!! Abby and I are dying to go to AG! She loved that you took pics of every doll so we can see what it is like. She got Julie for her 6th bday in May, so she really liked her bathing suit and rollerskate outfit. The food actually looked good, too! You will have to tell me how it was...we will probably evacuate to Dallas this time or Atlanta when a hurricane comes our way so I want to plan!! Cant wait for an update...glad you are home:love:

I haven't been to a Disney on ice show since I was a kid and I remember just LOVING it--so I can't wait to take the girls!! Plus it will give us somewhat of a Disney fix while we wait for our next trip!! :goodvibes You would like Up--just be sure to have tissues ready when you watch it!! How cute!! I never thought of taking one of the mini-dolls to Disney!! Great idea b/c Ally wanted to take one of her big dolls on our trip and I didn't think it was a good idea.

Glad you are back safe and had a great time.

Thanks!! I bet it is if it is the same characters. It's called Worlds of Fantasy. I will definitely share pics of the ice show!!

Oh good! I'm glad Abby liked the AG pics! I took pics of everything--I didn't want to forget our trip!! ;) Yes, the food was very good! We really enjoyed our time there!!

Why didn't they have these dolls when I was her age?

I really like Marisol :)

I know!! AG dolls came out when I was a little older. I wanted one so badly but had already been collecting Madame Alexander dolls. Now I just live vicariously through my daughters!!

Loved the update. I cannot wait to take my girls to AG someday. I would like to go next spring, for Emily's birthday (she is my true doll lover!) We have Nikki, two bitty babies and the bitty twins, but the girls were both eyeballing the dolls from the last catalog- I think they might be on Christmas Lists.

Love the AG pics! I have Kirsten, Felicity and an original Girl of Today! My cousins all had dolls too and we would get together and play with them all the time. My Grandfather was a wood worker and he made all of the furniture for us! All he needed was the picture and he could make an almost perfect replica! I still have all of my dolls and furniture and I can't wait to pass them onto Madison. I got my first doll when I was 9 years old, so I want to wait a bit until I let Madison play with them.

Thanks Laura!! Emily would LOVE visiting AG! Yes, Ally wants Kit for Christmas--she just adores the Kit movie! :lovestruc

Thanks Meghan!! Nice! I always wanted an AG doll growing up but my grandmother bought me the Madame Alexander dolls instead--and you couldn't really play with them. How nice to have a grandfather that could make you doll furniture!! I'm sure you'll cherish those pieces forever!!!

HI Becky,
I love the AG place pics. Looks like you all had fun. I'm sure Ally is thrilled with her new doll. I like the matching outfits on her and her Samantha doll. Did you make them? Also :yay: for Disney in ice tickets. We went to the Disneyland one last year and it was fun. I don't know if the one you are seeing is coming to Knoxville or not yet. It if does then we will go see it for sure. Glad you finally saw Up. We saw like 5 days before you, better late then never right? It was a great movie, we loved it.

Thank you Nichole! I did not make the outfits (wish I could sew)! I bought them on Ebay from the seller je*designs (http://stores.shop.ebay.com/annloren__W0QQ_armrsZ1). If you bid on the auctions you can get the outfits really cheap. I don't think I've paid more than $20 for an outfit!! And they also sell the matching doll outfits! Oh--and always size up--the clothes run small!

Yes, better late than never! We were waiting for a time to go when Brent could go with us! GREAT movie!! It was worth the wait!

Oooh--thanks for sharing!! LOVED it! Just posted it on my Facebook page!! :lovestruc

What a fun weekend in Dallas! We are big American Girl fans at our house (we have a Boutique and Bistro here in Atlanta, but we haven't been since last summer), and both Chelsea and I just love the new doll, Rebecca. Lunch looks great at the Bistro -- I love how they even have a Bitty menu for Claire's age group! Claire was cracking me up feeding her Bitty Baby. :rotfl:

Thanks Jackie! Yes, Rebecca is just GORGEOUS!! Ally loves her clothes! We would LOVE to visit Atlanta sometime and go to the B&B there!! I grew up and hour Northeast of Atlanta but never really went into the city as a kid. I would love to take the girls!! Yes, it was nice to have a menu with smaller portions! I don't remember them having that at the NYC store. Yes, Claire was LOVING that Bitty Baby!! She'll be getting one for her 2nd birthday in October!!

We woke up super-early this morning because we had 8:00 a.m. reservations for breakfast at Akershus in Norway.
AkershusAllyinvite.jpg

So we got dressed and walked the short walk from the Poly to the TTC. We got to the monorail at 7:15 and asked the CM when he thought the monorail might be there. He said, "Anytime now." He was an older man and was friendly but quite strange. And he wouldn't quit talking! I was antsy to get to Epcot in plenty of time for our ressie. Finally, for what seemed like forever--the CM said ok--they're still running their safety checks so it should be only 8 more minutes! Well the time was ticking and he could tell that I was getting irritated so he called someone and set up another monorail train to come get us. So we waited some more. That one never showed up and he told us they had changed their minds! Ugggh!! It was now 7:45 and no monorail was in sight!! He kept saying, "8 more minutes" and I was really getting peeved! Finally at 8:00 a.m. the monorail shows up!! Well, we were definitely late for our ressie and me being the Type A person that I am--I HATE being late to anything! So I was completely stressed out at this point!

So we finally got to Epcot and we ran to the front gate to check-in. I noticed that this was the only park that actually had a list of those with breakfast ressies that were allowed to enter early. At MK they had just taken our word. Once they checked our bags and tickets we RAN to Norway! But along the way I quickly took some pics as I wasn't sure how long we'd be rain-free. I wanted to get pics while I had the chance. Here are pics while entering the park:

I was so disappointed that I didn't get Cinderella and Prince Charming with the red carpet--uggh!! Just too rushed!!

I had read here on the DIS that Belle would be the one greeting us at Akershus so I dressed the girls accordingly!

More pics as we ran!!

We made it!! FINALLY!
024.jpg

I checked us in at 8:20 a.m. and the girl said that it wasn't an issue that we were late. She gave us a beeper and we waited.
026.jpg

We only waited about 5 minutes and then our beeper went off!!
027.jpg

Into the restaurant we went! On the wall we saw this:

As we briefly waited to meet Belle, we saw this:

We decided to just get Ally's pic with her because Claire didn't seem interested. This Belle was wonderful!! She spent a lot of time with Ally!

Here are the Photopass pics:

And the one that came with the meal:

We were then seated in the room on the far right of the restaurant. It was maybe half full where we were sitting. Our waitress, Camilla, introduced herself and got our drink orders. She quickly brought our drinks and family-style food (Fresh Fruit, Bacon, Sausage, Scrambled Eggs, Potato Casserole, Biscuits, and Cinnamon Rolls). Brent went ahead and got all of us some food from the buffet. (I didn't want to miss any of the princesses)

Ally was praying that we'd meet Ariel (Ariel is her favorite princess and she hadn't met her yet)

First up was Aurora!

And then Cinderella!! (Claire is a little unsure!!)

Who else will we meet?! Will Ally get to meet Ariel?! Who will be Claire's favorite?

Continued in next post. . .

First of all... that would be stressful to be waiting on the monorail. At the Contemporary they said the monorail runs an hour before the park opens, so then what are you supposed to do for a before the park opens ADR?

Secondly what a beautiful picture with Belle... that is so sweet.

That is the prettiest Aurora I think I have ever seen... so great!

At least the rain was not falling as you ran through EPCOT! That was a nice surprise!
