This is your 24th Anniversary? But you're so young!~A 5/12 TR!*PTR link pg 49, 9/14!*

Hahahaha! I was TOTALLY going to guess karmel kuche as our treat spot!!!! Yum!!!

Leaving WDW is always depressing, but having a return trip already planned helps ;)

Eww turbulence!!! Yikes! I'm glad you didn't have a panic attack!!!!

Can't wait to see what souvenirs you got and start your November PTR!!!

Haha, yep, like I said, I'm predictable! :thumbsup2

I don't know how I could ever leave WDW without having some idea of when I was coming back...February will be interesting! :rotfl2:

Ugh, turbulence is so awful, but being in the back of the plane made it so much worse!

I should be wrapping this TR up soon and then starting my PTR hopefully in the same night! I can't wait!

Mmm, there is nothing better than milk chocolate caramel! SO GOOD. I have never had one from Germany though...might have to change that.

That's cool you got to see the bridge going up while they were setting up for Illuminations. :thumbsup2

Love the pictures of the fairy garden! That's one of my favorite parts of the F&GF too. It is so cute. The purple fairy is Vidia-I actually don't like her because she's sort of mean to Tinkerbell. LOL (OK, I sound like such a dork for watching those movies!).

I hear ya on leaving Disney. Even though I've been so many times and know I'll be going back sometime, it's just better knowing EXACTLY when your next trip will be. Atleast yours is in a couple months...I still have a couple hundred days. :(

OMG you definitely have to get some caramel from Germany, it's sooooo good!

I loved seeing the Illuminations stuff being brought out, and hearing the music! :lovestruc

Haha, aww, that's ok that you watch the Tink movies! I've never seen one, but if it was on tv sometime, I'd probably watch it! The purple fairy is so pretty, but it figures she's mean! I always like the brats! :rotfl2:

I know, it's weird going so much and yet being so sad when we're leaving! It's like we're addicts or something! :rotfl:

Love the fairy garden pictures. Was anyone else worried that the bunny might eat Tink and her friends? I know, I'm a little twisted.
I feel your pain on that last-day sadness. DH did not have a good time on our WDW trip in July, and when we left, I wondered if we'll ever go back. Any ideas for manipulative strategies I can use on him, let me know :scratchin<evil genius

Thanks! Haha, I'm not sure anyone was worried about that bunny, he seemed pretty happy to be just hanging out with the fairies! :rotfl2:

Oh no...hmmm, I don't really have any strategies except begging! That usually works for me...whenever Brandon hasn't wanted to go back to Disney I just beg and beg and usually break him down because he's so sick of hearing me talk about it! :rotfl2:

Well, I've never actually had caramel and salt together, so I have no idea!

How cool to see the barges! For some reason you saying that sounds really familiar, like I feel like I heard the music on my last trip at a random time too! But I have no idea hahaha! Maybe it was a dream. I'm cool like that.

Mouse Gear is the BEST! It's definitely my favorite store!

You're so lucky to almost always have another trip planned when you get home. That has NEVER been the case with me and let me tell you, it blows. Luckily so far I've been back fairly soon after each trip (the longest time between trips so far has been a year) but this time? NO CLUE when I'll be back. WAHHH. But this isn't about me... hahah... I can't wait for you to start your PTR because I'm itching to hear some details girl!

OMG you don't know what you're missing! Do you ever go to Starbucks? They have a salted caramel latte (I think it's a latte) that is to die for!

Haha, maybe it was a dream...or maybe you did see the barges and hear the music...we'll never know! :stir: (I don't know why I used that smiley, I wanted something mysterious and that's what I came up with! :confused3)

I love Mouse Gear, it's cute! I want everything in there!

I can't imagine not having some idea of when I'll be going back to Disney when we leave! The longest we went was 14 months and it was AGONY! I'm not sure how I will be in February, my sister and niece will probably have to drag me to the airport kicking and screaming because I won't know when I'll be back! I can't even think about it, it's so depressing!

I'm hoping to start my PTR this week, I can't wait to start taking about this trip!

Mmmmm...I wish I had one of those sea salt caramels right now (I've had the dark chocolate one and it was amazing!) Sad to leave and even worse to have such a turbulent flight, but I'm glad you had the next trip booked and I look forward to hearing about it!

I want to try the dark chocolate one, I love dark chocolate too! Ugh, bumpy flights are the worst! I'm such a nervous flier! :bitelip: I can't wait to start my PTR, soon I hope!

Such a great TR Jen :) Looking forward to your PTR -Amanda

Thank you! :cool1: I'll let you know when I start my PTR, should be sometime this week!

I really don't know how people do that... I can't afford to go more than maybe once every 5 years... I have no idea what it feels like to leave NOT in a deep dark hole. I have NEVER known when leaving, when my next trip would be. It's been almost 2 years since my last trip and still don't know when the next time is we'll be able to go.:sad2:

Aww, I'm sorry! :( The first trip Brandon and I took together was like that, I had no idea when we would be back, he wasn't a Disney convert back then, and I really had to beg him to agree to go back! I'm not sure how people go so many times either, I mean, yes, Brandon and I have been going twice a year, but it's just us! If we had kids, this would not be happening, it would probably be every few years! I guess you just have to learn to make the most of your trips while you are there! :goodvibes

Ah, great TR Jen! Sad that it is over but really looking forward to reading your next PTR. Booking a bounce back sounds like a great plan! You can always cancel if need be, right?

Thanks! Haha, I wish I could just book a bounceback trip every time, even if we end up canceling it, just to feel better when we leave the parks! :rotfl:

I love the fairy gardens!! I didn't notice all the details when I was there in '09. Just a giant tink! Maybe they weren't doing it then!

The other fairies.. besides the new one, is Vidia, and Rosetta....

The fairies are so cute, I was there in 2010 and they had the fairy garden, but it was much smaller! I guess it's getting bigger and bigger every year!

Awww I'm sorry to see your TR come to an end! As usual, I loved following along!! Can't wait for what's next to come!!

Disney bunnies are exponentially more adorable than real-world bunnies, aren't they?? :goodvibes I REALLY have to try one of those sea salt caramels, they look amazing!!

Thanks, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I can't wait to start my new PTR soon, I can't wait to start really planning this trip! :cool1:

Yes, Disney bunnies are the cutest! :lovestruc I'd love to steal one and bring it home with me! The salted caramel is amazing, I can't wait to have one again in November!

Great TR!!! The balloon picture was really good!! And I LOVE LOVE those pillows, I had not seen those! :cloud9: I really hope I can find some when I go next month!

I know what you mean...leaving Disney is the worst! My kids and I always cry as we pack up and drive home. It doesn't usually stop until we stop seeing the Disney signs on the highway! Poor DH:rotfl:

Can't wait for your PTR!

Thank you! Aren't those pillows adorable! I hope they have them when you are there! :cool1:

Haha, ohhhh I can't imagine driving home, I'd be a mess! I'd probably be begging to turn the car around! :rotfl2:

Yum! Caramel always makes everything better! I also like your nails in the picture with the caramel. :) I think I am going to get my nails done like that again for my trip in November.

I seriously can't believe we are missing each other by ONE DAY in November. I'm going crazy constantly re-working the schedule and I think that I have it pretty well set now. I want it to be a slower paced trip but I also want to make sure that we get our favorites in and because we're only there 6 nights, it's hard!

Looking forward to your PTR!

P.S. I HATE sitting in the back of the plane, it causes me so much anxiety when boarding that we are going to have to. Greg and I had a flight once (maybe, twice) where the flight attendants were sitting almost the entire time as well, there were a lot of stomach drops!!!

I love caramel! It really did make me feel better!

Thanks, I'm not sure what to do with my nails in November, I want to do something Disney, but I don't want to do the Minnie nails again...I might try mouse ears if I feel creative enough!

I KNOW, one day!!! :crazy2: I can't even make a schedule, it's awful, I tried the other morning and gave up! The F&W festival is throwing everything off because Brandon wants to go to Epcot every single day and I want to go to other parks, so it's hard fitting it all in! And we'll need a break day...ugh! I hope I get it figured out soon it's stressing me out! :hyper:

I will NEVER sit in the back of the plane again! I don't care who is sitting near us, how loud they are, I'm not moving! It was SO bumpy, I read the best place to sit is near the wing so that's what I'll be doing in November! :cool1:

Thanks for a great TR! Happy that your PTR will be started soon...can't wait to follow along
Boo, for leaving...it is really good to have a trip to look forward to...that helps the 'Disney blues'....maybe by the time your February
Trip comes you will be able to book another trip soon after...
Boo, for sitting in the back of the plane, that happened to us once, I get scared of flying to begin with....and being in the back does not help

I read your post about the chocolate covered salted caramel just before I went to Trader Joe's, not a good idea.....i ended up buying a small container of sea salted caramels for $4 - lol they are really good though....lol

Thanks for reading! I can't wait to start my PTR! Hmm, I'm not sure I'll have another trip to book after February, but we'll see! Maybe we can do a short trip or something! :thumbsup2

OMG they have salted caramels at Trader Joes??? I so wish I didn't know that! :rotfl2:

Your caramel from Germany looks very good! Yummmm! I love the pixie hollow pictures. I don't know any of their names either, but it looks like a cute little area. MouseGears is one of my favorites too! Boo, leaving Disney is the worst feeling ever. At least you had your November trip to look forward too. I can't wait to read that PTR!

It was really good! :thumbsup2

The fairies are so cute! I really loved that area, I wish we saw it earlier in the trip!

Leaving Disney is the worst, so sad! :( I cant' wait til November! I should be starting my PTR this week, I'm so excited to start so I can finally talk about it!

I always hate leaving Disney :sad1: I am already dreading it for our next trip because we wont be returning for a while! I loved reading your TR and cant wait to hear about your next trip!!

Making a schedule when F&W is going on is so much more difficult than any other time of year! I have no issues planning trips for DL or for our May '09 trip but this one has me struggling!

I know, leaving is the worst! :( Leaving in February will be hard, because I don't know when I'll be back either! I gotta really take it all in in these next 2 trips! :cool1:

Haha, I know right? It wasn't so hard when I went in October last year and we had the full week to work with, but we're going the last weekend of F&W so we're trying to cram in a lot of Epcot in a short amount of time, and I don't want to skip other parks either! Ughhhh!!! :crazy2:

I have 2 weeks (with 10 park days) so I know we will have lots of time to see stuff but I like to have planned out where we will be and I have no idea how much time to devote to the food booths... if we will want to do them more than once... plus I've booked 7 extra things, a tour, La Nouba, several F&W events... its going to be interesting to say the least how it all works out! I can't wait though. just one month to go!

The One with THE END!

Hi everyone! It's time for the very last post of this TR! It's always so sad when you have to end a TR, it means your trip is truly over! :( But I can't really be too sad, in less than 2 months I will be back in DISNEY WORLD and I'll have a new PTR to keep me busy (which I'm hoping to start in a few days, as soon as I do I will put a link here, if anyone wants to follow along! :thumbsup2)

First things first, the souvenirs!

P1020679.jpg

A Muppet shirt for my friend at work, who likes the Muppets, yet hates Disney...yeah, figure that one out! :rotfl:

P1020680.jpg

A bar of soap from Basin for my sister and a Vinylmation for Caitlin! I'm assuming she will trade it when she goes to Disney in a couple of weeks!

P1020681.jpg

MY RAPUNZEL ORNAMENT!!! Remember how many times you saw this throughout my TR? I actually remembered to buy it! And a Flower and Garden magnet.

P1020683.jpg

Phone case for my Iphone and keychain! I'll probably get another Iphone case in November, I really wanted the one with the castle on it, I was having such a hard time deciding so I chose Minnie!

P1020684.jpg

Earrings...not sure if you can tell, but they are Mickey heads on top of a key, just like the keychain only much smaller, they are really cute!

P1020687.jpg

Alice mug, a kitchen towel and another bar of soap from Basin.

Final Thoughts and Other Random Things

When we were driving to the airport, I made a list of things that we skipped on this trip, and things I wanted to improve for our next trip. We got a lot done, but there was also so much we missed because we only had 5 days there, and everything felt really rushed. I like running around in Disney, but this was the first trip when I actually felt rushed, like I wasn't spending enough time in the parks!

-Some things we skipped were ANIMAL KINGDOM-we skipped a whole park! :crazy2: I didn't get a margarita like I wanted from La Cava, didn't go on Mission Space, didn't see the Muppets, and we didn't get any character pics, except the terrible one with Marie! Did these things ruin my trip-of course not, but they are all favorites of mine, and it just felt a little weird to be skipping so much! :confused3

-I learned that I have to plan our time in the parks better. I mean, again, this trip was short, but it seems like we were only in each park for a few hours at a time, and then we'd have to leave and do something else. Normally I like doing that, but on this trip, it annoyed me, because I just wanted to stay where we were! I love park hopping, but again, on a short trip, when you need to take afternoon breaks like we do, maybe it's better to stick to one park!

-Some highlights of the trip were staying in the Beach Club, of course! Eating at California Grill for the first time, meeting my first DIS-er, Le Cellier, as always! Also, doing 3 parks on our last day was fun, and riding the Tower of Terror before we went home was awesome!

-The only actual bad part of this trip was when I got sick in Epcot. I just don't deal well with heat. It doesn't seem to matter what I do, I can drink water all day and all night, if I'm out in the sun for a long period of time, I'm going to get sick. It's annoying because I'd love to go in July when the parks are open late and stay out until 2 or 3 am and then sleep all morning and lay by the pool all afternoon, but I don't know if I'll ever be able to handle that! And Brandon said he will never go when it's hot again. So if we ever do another anniversary trip, it will probably be in March or early April...or maybe we will just hold off until the Fall! Who knows? :rotfl:

All in all, this was an amazing trip! Yes it was short, yes I got kind of sick one day, and yes there was a lot we missed, but we were in Disney World! You can't be mad when you're there, even if your schedule gets messed up, even if it's too hot, even if magic hours are not what you had hoped, or the crowds are too high, it really doesn't matter that much. You get over it quickly because you are in your happy place!:lovestruc I was just happy to be there, in that beautiful resort, with my DH, where nothing but being happy and having fun matters! We both had a great time just spending time together, wandering through the parks, eating at fantastic restaurants and trying not to stress when things didn't go the way we expected (ok, more me than Brandon! :rotfl:) I learned a lot from this trip and hopefully I will remember these lessons for November, and cherish every second that I'm there, because time goes way too quickly in Disney, and before you know it, it's over! pixiedust:

Thank you everyone for reading along and letting me share my trip with you! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:grouphug: I love writing TR's so I can relive my trip and share my experiences with you guys and hear your thoughts on everything, so if you keep reading, I'll keep writing, even though I'm not the best writer out there! I'm so thankful there is a whole forum of Disney freaks like me where we can come and talk about our trips and our love of Disney! :mickeyjum I hope you will all join me when I start my PTR for my November trip, which I should be starting in a couple of days, and as soon as I do, I will put a link here! :thumbsup2

::MinnieMoThank you again for reading! See you real soon! ::MickeyMo

Can't wait for your PTR to start!!! we need to continue our Red Sox bashing....well, not much bashing...more discussions, lol
Bobby Valentine is a guest speaker at Salem State University in November, every time we drive by the billboard my husband always says...who the heck is going to go see him...I imagine he will be cancelled if they let him go....

Omg, I love the giraffe blanket(?) You displayed your souvenirs on!!!

I have got to get me some basin soap one of these trips!
Your a good friend to pick-up a Muppets t-shirt for your non-Disney liking friend! I wouldn't have, lol!

Love the iPhone case, I looked and looked for a case for my android, and found nothing.
Really pretty earnings...very subtle Disney, so people will kind of have to take a second look

Sad that your trip report is all over!! But I can't wait to read your PTR... Especially since our dates, I think, overlap a bit!:cool1:

Love the souvies :) and enjoyed following along on your trip report. your so lucky to be heading back again so soon!! I'm soooo jealous! lol

The souvenirs are great. I love the earrings! I lost part of one of my Disney Danielle earrings at WDW, so I think I deserve some new ones!
I got the same towel (only in red) for my kindergarten colleagues. So cute!

That phone case is cute!
I bought the castle one on our Trip last year and has contemplated that Minnie one!!! How funny :)

So excited for you to start your PTR! I'm getting the Disney itch to be there "real soon"!!!! Only 17ish days until we leave to drive down!!!!! :D

Your souvenirs are great!!! I really love the keychain and the earrings!!! And I LOVE vinylmations!! Did you know they are coming out with something new? Mickey head/ear "vinylmations"?! It'll be interesting to see!!!

I had to go back and catch up on your last day. :woohoo: for getting to ride ToT twice! I love that ride.

That last day is always sad, isn't it? Luckily you have a trip coming up in a few short months! :)

Cute Muppets shirt, and you gotta love that Basin soap!

I've enjoyed your trip report, Jen! Looking forward to reading your PTR for your November trip.

Great trip report! I always enjoy reading yours - you have a great writing style. Yes, I'll keep reading if you keep writing :yay:

OMG that ornament! I WANT THAT!!! Did they have Eugene too? And Pascal? Maybe Maximus? The gang of ruffians from the Snuggly Duckling??

(Too far?)

Hahha... only five days. I go on a 5 day trip and I think it's so long! Then again I've also been on a 2 day trip sooo yeah ahha. I think I'd be in Heaven on like a 6 or 7 day trip.

Loved your TR Jen!! I'm excited for your PTR! I don't usually look forward to PTRs, but I always enjoy yours!!! :goodvibes

Awww I'm sorry to see your TR come to an end!!! I loved reading along!!!

I'm glad to hear that you had a wonderful time! We absolutely cannot visit in the summer, I honestly do not know how people do it. I think there are wonderful aspects of going during the cooler months, even though the park hours may be a bit shorter!

Can't wait for your PTR! :goodvibes

I'm sorry to see the end of the TR! But I can't wait until the PTR starts, count me in for that one!
Love the souvies, especially that Muppets t-shirt! I might have to think about that one for myself!

Love the Rapunzel ornament and phone case. I love all their phone cases but don't have an iphone.

Bummer you feel like you missed out on so much. :( I can't believe you didn't get to DAK at all! I'm a little bit jealous your trips are usually longer than 5 days. If I can get 6 full park days I'm lucky (but I guess that's also part of having to work around a school schedule...). But...like you said, even if it's short atleast you're in Disney World! And atleast you get to go back soon. :)
