The One With Agent P

Sunday May 6

Hi everyone! I'm sorry it's taken me so long to update, I've been really busy this week! This update might be a little shorter than usual, but at least it's something!

Oh, and before I start-I booked my flights for November's trip! They were surprisingly cheap, less than $500! Of course, I'm already thinking about changing the time of our flight home, and if I add a day at the beginning of the trip (which is what I'm hoping!) I'd like to do that soon, so I can change that flight before it goes up too much! I'm glad I have them booked, even though I'll probably end up switching something around!

So, Sunday was our second day in Disney, our first full day, and I woke up bright and early, of course! My plan was to get to DHS that morning by 8:30, since I had been reading on the DIS for a few months that they were letting people into the park early, I wanted to test it out! Since it was so early, I decided to let Brandon sleep for a little while and go get some coffee in our refillable mugs. (Well, coffee for him, tea for me...glad I added in that extra little bit of info, aren't you? Don't you feel like ya know me so much better? :thumbsup2)

As soon as I got back to the room, I woke Brandon up, made him get ready and rushed him out the door. We walked through by the Beach Club Villas to get to the parking lot, which is so beautiful, I love that it's so beachy and pretty!

It reminds me a lot of Cape Cod or something!

If you have never been to the Beach Club, or BCV, there is a little water section right near the parking lot, and you have to cross a bridge to get there...we looked over the bridge and saw this guy just chillin' out-

P1020067.jpg

It's kind of cool to see a real, live alligator just hanging out, but scary at the same time...I'm not sure I could live in a land where alligators just share waterways with humans. :confused3

Brandon of course, had to get 5 million pictures of the alligator on his phone, and try to guess how big he was, and he ended up wasting a lot of time...we finally got in the car and started our 2 minute drive to DHS!

One of the best things about staying at the Beach Club-when you leave are leaving the Epcot resort area road, this is at the end of-

P1020068.jpg

I LOVED seeing the Tower of Terror anytime we drove anywhere!

We made it to DHS by 8:45, which I was NOT happy about...however, it didn't matter, because they weren't letting people in yet!

P1020069.jpg

Figures the day I get there early they don't let people in early! They started letting people in maybe 2 minutes before 9.

I was expecting a mad dash to Toy Story Mania, which is where we were headed, but surprisingly, everyone just walked over! And when we got there, there wasn't a huge line for the FP machines! I just walked right up to one not being used, handed the lovely CM our AP's and we got 2 FP's with a return time of 10:20! Not too bad!

P1020071.jpg

I wanted to ride TSM more than once, so we checked the stand-by time...

P1020072.jpg

15 MINUTES? OMG I was so excited! Every time I've been on TSM it's been with FP's, so I was so happy that we would finally get to go through the adorable stand-by line!

P1020075.jpg

CANDY LAND! I flipped out when I saw this area of the floor, it's SO cute! I loved playing that game when I was little!

And I finally got to see this in person:

P1020078.jpg

I don't know why, but I could not get a good picture of him, my camera didn't like his eyes for some reason! :confused3

We were on the ride in no time at all, and I was having the best time! Brandon complains about this ride for some reason, he doesn't really get what the big deal is, but he actually liked it this time, I'm guessing this had something to do with it-

P1020079.jpg

Yup. He beat me. First time ever that he got a better score than me on TSM! Sad, sad day! :sad2:

We were finished with TSM around 9:40, so I wanted to do something between then and the time we could use our FP's again, so I suggested the Animation Academy! We did the drawing class for the first time in October, and we loved it, so we were both pretty excited to try it again!

We went into the animation building and it was deserted, there weren't even any characters there yet! The next class was at 10, so we just walked around for a little while and played around with everything they have down there. I "colored" a lovely picture of Flounder

P1020082.jpg

while Brandon was doing the thing where they put your voice in a scene from a Disney movie...I wish I had video of it, because it was so funny, unfortunately I can't remember WHY it was actually funny...so telling you guys that was pretty much pointless, but I do remember laughing hysterically when I watched his clip! :rotfl: Sorry for the bad TR reporting, wow, I have to do better next time with the notes!

Our animation class was about to start, so we went in a grabbed seats right in the front. I couldn't wait to find out who we'd be drawing! After our instructor talked to us for a few minutes he revealed that we would be drawing...Agent P! I was happy to draw him, because at the time, even though I didn't watch Phineas and Ferb, of course I knew who Perry the Platypus was, and I thought he was adorable! Now I watch Phineas and Ferb almost every night, so I am even more happy that we got to draw him!

Here's my drawing:

P1020083.jpg

and here's Brandon's:

P1020084.jpg

(Ok, I'm TERRIBLE at drawing, and Brandon is usually really good, but I have to say, I kind of like mine better...don't tell him that, though! :rotfl2: :rolleyes1)

We finished the drawing class at 10:30, and it was time to use our FP's for TSM already! It was such a fantastic morning already, and we were in the park for such a short time! :cool1: I absolutely love mornings in Hollywood Studios!

Up next...more DHS...and cupcakes!

WHAT?! I can't believe that alligator was just hanging out in the water. Call me naive, but I had no idea they would be so close! Eek!

YAY TSM! Don't worry about Brandon beating you...we've got to let those guys win once in a while ;)

I need to spend more time in the animation building! We do Animation Academy all the time, but I've never done the thing where you can put your voice in a Disney movie! I must try this!

I love your drawings! :thumbsup2

Wow, crazy seeing the alligator hanging out at the Beach Club!

That is an awesome start to your morning at DHS. I can't believe there was no dash, no FP wait, and only a 15-minute standby! That's incredible!

Glad Brandon enjoyed himself this time too.

We'll have to check out those activities in the animation building sometime. Nice drawings!

I can't believe that was the fist time you'd waited in line for TSM. ;) Such a good return time and only 15 minutes normal wait time to boot. Sounds like a good morning to me.

Alligators creep me out!!!

Sorry you didn't get to go into DHS early, but at least there wasn't long lines for TSM like their usually are!!!!

I LOVE TSM!!!!! Mike and I always play our hearts out and I most always beat him ;)

I think your Agent P was awesome looking!!!

Joining in! I had heard there was an alligator spotted around the BC and we looked for one while we were there. Never saw one though. Only a turtle. So jealous that you got to draw Agent P! You both did a great job! I too loved seeing ToT everytime we went somewhere. It made me so happy!

I'm a tea-drinker, too! I knew you were my people! ;)

Did you know alligators growl when you get too close? Yeah, I learned that lesson the hard way last summer. Saw one during our vacation at Hilton Head... this was at a state park/nature preserve, and the thing was literally just 6 feet away from us. Of course, Shane goes to get closer so he can get a photo... that's when the 'gator growled. Scared the living daylights out of me! I could not get away fast enough, I pretty much pushed my youngest daughter out of my way! Mother of The Year, I tell you. :sad2:

I can't believe this was your 1st time in the stand-by queue for TSM! And I can never get a good photo of Mr. Potato Head... those eyes just don't photograph well!

I did the Animation Academy for the 1st time last summer. Don't know why we've skipped it before, 'cause my girls would love it. We'll have to make sure to do it on our next family trip... and they'd be over the moon to draw Perry!

Finally here for your May TR! I LOVE the new room. That is what I would expect as well! The other one just seemed so.... off. Less magical. Can't quite put my finger on it. I am glad that manager was nice and gave you a new one right away!

Still haven't been to Cape May, but I think I need to try that Salmon! =)

I enjoyed the update, Jen. Seeing the gator in the water by BC reminds me of "Ali" at the Coronado and her brother. We had a gator at CSR the CSR the last three times we stayed there and know that Ali was "moved" when she got too big and then her brother showed up. :lmao:

What a great start to your morning at the Studios. :thumbsup2

It's too bad Brandon finally beat you at TSM, but you definitely had the better drawing.

Honestly, yes, I am glad you said you got tea. You seem like a coffee drinker!

OMG! How creepy that you saw the alligator! I'd have been a little weary of a first floor room with that guy around! On a strangely related note, last night I had a dream that there were just tons and tons of alligators going into the woods behind my house, and that picture reminded me. Weird.

I've never been through the standby line for TSM either!! (Even though you clearly have now haha). So awesome!!! I can't wait to test out this new earlier opening thing.

Ahh your Perry is awesome! I haven't watched Phineas and Ferb in so long, but that show is hilarious! Great update!!! :woohoo:

Spotting the alligators around Disney kind of freaks me out too! I've never seen one near the Beach Club though!

That stinks that you didn't get an earlier opening of DHS, but how fun that you finally got to experience the stand-by line with a short wait! The Candy Land floor is really cute!

Yay Agent P!!!

I can't believe the SW tickets were so cheap. I was considering switching our cruise to that weekend but Jetblue was so expensive that I kept our Sept dates. I wish I had waited until SW released their prices:guilty: Stupid Jet Blue

I always checked out that water area at BC to look for alligators but never saw one. I don't mind seeing the small ones. I'm more afraid of seeing a snake:scared:

How cool that you got to draw Agent P! I love Phineas and Ferb. Caitlin used to watch it everyday but now she has been watching some horrible show called Adventure time or something. I wish she would go back to watch Phineas and Ferb. Now, I have to watch it on my own.

Can't see pics now, but enjoyed your update all the same! I have to admit that the alligators freak me out a bit, too. I guess when you live there you get used to it.

Sorry for no soft opening, but at least you had a nice leisurely opening. :faint: Can't believe you let Brandon beat you on TSM! :rotfl:

I'm thinking that a ride on ToT might be just around the corner and some more cool low light pictures. popcorn::

Great start to your DHS morning!

I think your Agent P looks great! :)

I will definitely be back to hear about cupcakes! I hope there are pictures. ;)

Seeing gators doesn't bother me...but I don't think I would walk closer to one that was 6 ft away. They usually don't bother people unless they feel threatened, but if they're growling at you...I'd say they're feeling threatened.

I also love the queue for TSM.

Never did the drawing thing...we'll have to try that! How long does the class last?

Yikes, alligators!! :scared1:

Lucky Toy Story Mania was so empty! I love the standby line, but I hate waiting in it.

Animation class is one my favorites...many people (non DIS people) don't even know about it, it is definitely our favorite low-key attraction at DHS! :goodvibes

Can't wait for more.

I live in a place with no poisonous or dangerous snakes, spiders, reptiles, and even very few sharks. I would probably jump out of my skin at a real, live alligator. Either that or go crazy taking a million pics!
What a great morning at DHS! I always want to try the animation academy, it's on my to do list for September.

That's crazy about the gator in the water. I wonder if anybody else saw it and said something. When we stayed at Kidani Village there was a snake on one of the savannas and they were trying to get it out.

Yay for a short wait at TSM and for drawing at the Animation Academy. It is cool how they do some of the nontraditional characters too.
