This is Us- Season six

Then they could have set up a new place in SF like the old one too. For so many reasons this whole story just doesn't seem to work in my head.
It wasn’t just the house, he had a school, a neighborhood he knew and was just getting independent. As a parent of a kid with special needs it would take a heck of a lot to move her from her school and environment that we carefully created so she could develop independent skills and transition to adulthood successfully. It appears that Toby moved close at least that was mentioned which makes it an easier transition.

I don't get the chemistry between Kate and the new guy. Not much on Randall this episode.

I get that. But she didn’t squawk and then do it. She squawked, blew up her life, then did it.

I get that some might indeed still do that. But I didn’t like it as a plot line.
I just simply disagree. I see that nature in her,. complain about something and then if it is a necessity for her plans - so be it. And she would never admit that if pushed.

When they come home and ask each other about their day, Toby pretends his was great, but Kate can tell he doesn't mean it and hides that hers actually was great. - So neither is getting to share their real feelings.
I caught that scene as well. I felt tons of things were going on in that very short moment. What you listed, plus I thought Kate was potentially feeling some guilt about taking Toby from a job he loved, to one he hated. Maybe very optimistic of me for Kate to be lovingly sensitive in that area

I also wondered if she was quietly judging him for not being quite *there* greeting the kids. Or maybe I am so used to her quietly judging Toby, I see it in erroneous places. Laughing.

Then they went right for the Kleenex again with the story of Phillip's first marriage... 😪. It's a roller coaster with these writers (in an good way.)
I also felt that this scene showed that maybe Phillip is a great match for Kate. Because there is acknowledging someone's feelings and allowing them to rule with them. And I feel Phillip will not allow that to occur with Kate, just as Rebecca tried to guide Jack not to do with her.

l so loved when Kate was telling Toby their story wasn't over. Made me sad, but still it was
Cover your ears @ronandannette, that line was impactful for me, quite honestly.
Yes not real life but very impactful.

I get that some might indeed still do that. But I didn’t like it as a plot line.
I can't find your comment that illustrates my tag on, but I get the frustration around the lack of believable character development.

For me, it was Toby calling on Kate's wedding day. That's a no way in hell in general for me but most definitely a no way in hell for Toby. He would definitely understand that is not an appropriate choice to make (says judgy me!?!).

Just got through watching the episode. That was a LOT to take in. I thought the writing was very well done and the acting really good. I was caught up in the story. I've also been enjoying all of your perspectives. I agree with most, disagree with some, lol.

I watched the streamed version on my computer, and it didn't include next week's previiew, so I watched that on You Tube. Here is the link:

Next week's preview

Thank you for the link , in Canada we never get the previews it cuts off.

Ok so for starters: once again Chrissy Metz and Chris Sullivan knocked it out of the park! Love baby Jack and then we got to see little Jack and Hailey and that was so sweet. Also not enough Beth but everytime we saw her it was amazing.

Before I get into this weeks, next weeks preview I think confirms one of my theories regarding Randall and his political career not taking off!

Also I hope we see Gregory again. Even at a wedding or funeral something anything.

Here we go (in no particular order):

1) Something is still off about Elijah to me, but him just eating his pizza and ignoring the conversation is a mood.

2) Him and Madison’s baby is adorable! I remember watching and seeing the banner for the new big three and then BOOM CUTE BABY ALERT

3) Philip is so British I love it. I was cackling so much. Give that writer a raise!

4) speaking of Philip, he still has to grow on me a bit, but his monologue about his ex (I guess you can say that) getting run down destroyed me. Wanted to give the poor guy a hug. I also loved how he accepted Toby’s invitation to meet and how he asks Toby to stay for dinner. They are the co parent relationship people deserve.

5) Speaking of coparenting, I loved seeing all the parents both at the little big three party and at Jack’s performance.

6) That lawyer was smart as hell. Like damn girl. Also gotta give it up to the writers again for that awkward elevator scene.

7) I love Toby’s second wife and we’ve barely seen her for five minutes. I think her name is Laura? I hope we get more of her. I thought he was wearing the same shirt when he met her as he did when he called Kate on her wedding day so if someone can confirm that I’d appreciate it.

8) speaking of Laura, looks like they either hadn’t met yet or hadn’t gotten married yet during the flashfoward unless something changed-which is possible as apparently they filmed a ton of stuff long ago to use in the final few episodes.

9) I hate all the people saying “a marriage we saw for 6 years got destroyed in 40 minutes along with being given a new one in the same 40 minutes”….that’s how fast life happens sometimes people!

10) if you are all trash talking your therapist that’s a GIANT RED FLAG!!!!!!!!!! Like do I think they would’ve worked out? No, but they would’ve been more productive prior if they switched therapists.

11) They grew apart. They were afraid to show true emotions, they were scared, they care about their kids. But they weren’t the same people who fell in love with each other. This stuff happens. They are both better people with their new partners, and still are amazing parents to Jack and Hailey.

12) Speaking of Jack and Hailey, I hope we see all those flash forwards with Jack and his wife and baby. I know the primary focus has been and will be Rebecca, but I’m hoping we get a final glimpse.

Anyhoo we got six episodes left and with the way next weeks looks we all better have our comfort food and tissues ready

Wow wow wow! What an episode!

So much to talk about but I want to say I absolutely loved Milos acting when he entered Rebecca’s room at Kates wedding. He was making the actions and facial expressions that Kevin would be making based on what Rebecca was saying. When he enters the room, she says something like Hack, there you are and Milo hesitated just for a beat and he looked a little confused because that’s what Kevin would be doing. Does that make sense? lol

Who do we think Kevin ends up with? I think it’s a deep fake and it’s none of them, or there’s a very innocent explaination.

Randall’s speech was amazing and so beautiful.

Now, this next point will prove once in for all that this is one of the greatest shows of all time, due to the writing.

You know the song that Rebecca was playing and singing at the wedding? The one that Kate said she’d play for them all the time when they were growing up? Sorry for the shouting but THATS THE SONG THATS BEEN PLAYED AT THE END CREDITS SINCE EPISODE ONE!!! They knew all along that song would be so important and just played it as some random music for the end credits. As soon as I heard it I recognized it.

I died laughing when kid Randall asked Jack what was wrong with mom and Kate said she looks like Skelator, that’s what’s wrong with her.

Poor, poor Miguel. I saw how hard it was for my Grandpa to take care of my Grandma who had Alzheimer’s. I can’t imagine having to do that 24/7/365. I bet the big three step in now that they are aware of how bad it has gotten.

Beth was the standout for me this episode. She’s really grown on me the past few seasons. I wonder why we didn’t see their kids as the wedding. Not even a mention of them, unless I missed it.

This was such a good episode. I usually watch the streamed version the day after during an afternoon break, but didn't want to wait for this one. It was so poignant, and then they had the more lighthearted scenes, like with Beth and Madison. The looks throughout - so funny. We finally got to see Miguel past the quiet façade that he normally has. There was a lot tonight and I'm still processing it all. (I appreciate all of you that include so many details. I really enjoy reading them.)

Here is next week's preview:

Here's Rebecca singing in tonight's episode:

A few thoughts: I love how they had Milo play Kevin when Rebecca was calling Kevin Jack. So creative! I really hope they don't have Kevin end up with the wedding singer, a brand new character with only five episodes left, seems a bit forced. Also, I don't think they allowed us enough time to see the relationship between Phillip and Kate develop, also seems pigeon-holed in. Still loved the episode though and especially liked the Beth/Madison scenes and even some of Phillip's funny comments.

This episode was SO good. Madison and Beth were totally hilarious. I’m still not sold on Kate and Phillip as a couple, but this wedding had some great moments. Randall’s speech had me in tears… so perfect. And Rebecca, I was holding my breath hoping she would get through the performance and WOW what an ending.

Kevin… I’m still holding out hope for Sophie. I probably shouldn’t be since she’s married, but I feel they are soulmates. I hope he doesn’t end up with the wedding singer, as someone else said it would feel too forced.

Enjoyed the episode. Loved the stuff with Beth and Madison. Great comic relief right as it was needed.

I agree with the thought that the Kevin stuff is likely a deep fake. Probably somebody else entirely.

I appreciated Miguel's issues being included, but like so much else, it feels too rushed, just thrown in to say they covered it. Just like the breakdown of Kate and Toby's marriage felt way too rushed. I feel like the series has slowed down and spent entire episodes on side story lines, but really rushed through some things I wish they hadn't.
