This is Us- Season six

Also good on Mandy Moore, she plays her voice so young with intonation and tone in those flashbacks of early Jack, Miguel and Rebecca.

ebecca just went around to Miguel's side of the table and kissed him before she lost her chance again,
Balls she had. I like it. Was surprised, but like it.

And honestly there was probably some sort of attraction there when she loved Jack, people can be hard on those we feel something for in life.

Can someone tell me if the Facebook messages were clear. No glasses on both times and I am too lazy to go back. Were they awkward? Cute?

I also loved Miguel's awkward nature in the restaurant. Great writing and acting. So natural..

@prairie_girl roo lazy to find your quote.

That scene where they were talking to Miguel, yes that is how it often comes off in real life - staged. Because often the "outsiders to the daily grind" hobnob about the caregiver so much that they talk about what they are going to say, how they are going to say it, what if she/he says this back - how are we going to deal with it, you say this, no I will say this blah blah. Nothing is natural.

Caregiving is insanely hard. But there is nothing like dealing with loved ones surrounding it. I looked after my father for six months full time (palliative brain cancer) and my mother full time for three years/more than a decade part time (dementia). And nothing - absolutely nothing is harder than dealing with others' thoughts, judgments, feelings, absurdities and always the supreme medical knowledge shared. Insert sigh.
But we all survived.. By God's grace and my forgiving nature.:drinking1

(And I do realize that others feel completely helpless and that unfortunate feeling leads to all kinds of behaviour.)

I thought this episode was done very well. It was nice to get some back story on Miguel. He truly was a great man. I think we will see Rebecca pass in the next to last episode which is titled "Train". Remembering back to the episode when Rebecca couldn't think of the name of the last car - caboose. I think it is her reaching the end - "caboose" of her life. I think what made Mandy Moore sick while reading the script was that when she passes she will be meeting with not only Jack and Miguel but she will see Kyle.

How did I totally forget about Kyle?

My in laws passed away in January of 2020 and August 2021. He had physical issues, she had dementia. They covered each other's shortcomings until we realized it and stepped in. As I watched last night, I kept seeing glimpses of their life together. He also passed away before she did.

This episode was hard to watch, although very well done. I wonder how old Rebecca and Miguel were supposed to be. It was especially hard because of my stage of life. DH and I are in our 70’s. We have family members with dementia and friends with heart conditions and cancer. We’re both relatively healthy but we don’t know what’s in our future. None of us do. Trying to make the most of the present, despite the trials of the last couple of years.

They are all wearing black. Well we know Kate is still around and didn’t lose weight either like some thought.

I need to watch this weeks again.

That’s the first thing I noticed too.
