Can't even explain how lovely it is to have this thread right now.

BTW..why hasn't Miguel been consulted regarding his wife's medical decisions
The best part of the episode - Beth Pearson.
Always!
Still ridiculously and insanely jealous of those who got her on the quiz.![]()
Everyone needed to agree on Rebecca's treatment plan unless/until it wasn't what Randal wanted? BTW..why hasn't Miguel been consulted regarding his wife's medical decisions?
Shame on Randal for manipulating his mother in her condition.
So I guess I wasn’t very clear. I find Rebecca’s situation to be completely opposite of my own. Randall took a calculated risk pressuring his mother to side with him. Risk 1–Randall should not have manipulated his mother against the stated wishes of Kevin and probably Kate and Miguel. Risk 2–the trial is unlikely to provide benefit equal to the physical and emotional cost of the patient. Here’s the thing though: it sounds like everyone in your situation is on the same page. It’s pretty awful of Randall to go behind his siblings’ (and Miguel’s!!! Rebecca has a husband!!!) backs and drop a GIGANTIC guilt bomb on Rebecca to manipulate her into saying yes.
With my dad’s dementia, my sister and I defer to my mom because we both live out of state and my mom is my dad’s primary caregiver. If she needs our backup, we give it to her. I know all the Pearsons are dismissive of Miguel, and Randall justified it to himself as “he missed this for months,” but the bottom line is Miguel should be the one who has the final say. I bet none of the Big 3 ever even considered his opinion.
Agree wholeheartedly. Sterling is portraying a deeply flawed, multi-layered character extremely well, but boy is Randall a total jerk right now. I wonder if he even talked through any of it with Beth. I feel like Beth would tell him to step back from the situation and let his mother be in control of what she has left.
In the idealistic world it definitely seemed like William was being deceptive about Randall’s birth mother. Obviously that could be wishful thinking for Randall but there could be something there. Maybe she went on a drug bend and left William with Randall alone and William couldn’t cope, assumed/wished she died, etc. Very interesting. I think Randall certainly believes that his biomom is dead. But maybe she isn’t. Or maybe she really died and obviously Randall wishes she hadn’t.I loved it but I only watch on my caveman level , so I come here to see what wasn't their lol. One more thing, I remember it might have been season 1 when Randal's father died , they interviewed the writer and he hinted that maybe the fact that Randal's mom has died is not really the case
Related question. It always seemed as if Randall was a newborn or a few days old when taken to hospital and mother was dead when she approached William. William’s retelling to Randall in the current timeline did not seem to dispute that. Alternate William made it seem as if the mother died after a period of time longer than a few days. Infant Randall has always been portrayed as similar to Kate and Kevin. While it wouldn’t make a difference upon toddlerhood or beyond if Randall were a week or few weeks older, it didn’t seem consistent with presumed canon. In the idealistic world it definitely seemed like William was being deceptive about Randall’s birth mother. No I think he was at least a month old or more when he was left. I think that’s correct.Related question. Thanks. I didn’t remember if there was a specific reference to infant Randall’s age.No I think he was at least a month old or more when he was left. I think that’s correct.
In the very first episode, pretty sure Rebecca referred to Randall as three days old, the same age as the twins. He was supposedly born on the same day, seeing as all 3 celebrate their birthday on the same day.Thanks. I didn’t remember if there was a specific reference to infant Randall’s age.

He was surrendered on the day that the twins were born. But it makes no sense that he would be born, surrendered at the fire station rather than a hospital especially if it was the day he was born, then brought to the hospital... I believe they had him for a short time first. They celebrate his birthday on the day they got him.the show started with the story line going, all 3 and father had the same birthdate, he had to be a few days old
I figured this. It just seemed alternate William referred to a much longer period of time than the scenes with young William portrayed. Or my memory is lousyHe was surrendered on the day that the twins were born. It’s been a long time since the episodes with William but I think there were references to them having Randall for at least a short time.
Not that I care enough to go back and verify any of it! It just makes it easier to believe literal same birthday.I figured this. It just seemed alternate William referred to a much longer period of time than the scenes with young William portrayed. Or my memory is lousy![]()
Yeah I’ve tried doing a search but I can’t seem to find the scenes I’m thinking of online. Not that I care enough to go back and verify any of it! It just makes it easier to believe literal same birthday.
