This is Us- Season four

So my take away is Laurel went on to have a family with this guy. The little girl was his granddaughter, which i'm assuming means he and Laurel had at least one child together.
The little girl doesn't know who "the lady in the pictures" is so it leads me to believe Laurel was only in this man's life for a brief period of time.

I was also happy to see him make an exit from the cabin on his birthday to go home and be with his wife and daughters, his core family. For so long he would take on and try to solve everyone else’s problems and now I feel he is deservedly focusing on his own needs and growth.

This is the thing that annoys me about Randall. He takes on everyone’s problem because he chooses to do that. He is a bit of a martyr.

I couldn't believe how different "teen Kate" looked. For a second, I thought it was a different actress. Teen Randall looked about the same, but teen Kevin looked older.
Teen Kate was not the teen Kate we saw a lit last yr... Kate last night waa the younger Kate, just older...all of the siblings were just older versions of the younger kids, not the actual teenage actors.

That's probably what you meant, but I just saw the teen word and knew those weren't the actual teen actors. but the younger kid actors. Lol

I understand that.

It just would be too much for me.
 Yes, jumping the shark is one thing, sticking the landing is quite another.

Am I the only one that finds it ridiculously impossible that the kid would never have asked Grandpa about the lady before? Clearly they spend a good deal of time together and as he mentioned repeatedly, she never stops asking questions. This show has always been such a juxtaposition between really, really clever plot devices to move the story along and stuff like this that's just stupid.

This. BTW, I don't think he lives on a boat--why would you fish from land if you lived on a boat? I think he has a modest apartment or house. I also think they live in the US--both speak perfect English, they only use Vietnamese when they fish. Clearly, they have a close bond and this is a "thing" that they enjoy together.

Also, I still can't get past the fact that Laurel wasn't pegged as Randall's mother after her overdose. He was born in 1990--the internet may not have been a thing, but we sure had radio, TV, newspapers. Even if she was brought to a different hospital, it would have been obvious that she had just given birth, and someone would have easily connected that to, "Hey, Mercy Hospital on the other side of the city just had a baby boy dropped off". And wouldn't she have made at least some rudimentary attempt to locate William and her baby? Maternal hormones are insane after giving birth! Even if, say, she was immediately ordered into rehab, she would tell her public defender, "I have a son out there."

I was wondering about that too. My mom was saying remember she was unconscious for a long time, they even thought she was dead, it's possible that she had amnesia from the lack of oxygen and just didn't remember she had a baby. Again, this is soap opera territory, but I guess that could be a reason.

The paramedics knew she'd just given birth. It would also be obvious during any examination.

I’ve been thinking about this too and agree - the little girl would know who grandma was if they were related.

I got your joke!🤣

I was responding to the poster who said we didn’t know Beth & Zoe’s relationship. I was just explaining that we do - but that it wasn’t defined beyond cousin.
Crazy thing...it's still legal in almost half the states.

Ah yes! I should have said, "middle school Kate" since that is the age they were last night LOL! There are so many sets of the big three. We have seen baby, toddler, grade school, teen, and adult. The grade school group are now tweens/teens I think? I thought Rebecca said something about middle school or 13 or something during last nights episode.

They were born in 1980.
