Hi,

Found this thread so thought I would ask a question or two. Apologies if this has been answered, but I haven't the time to trawl through all the pages.

I have just booked a deluxe club (previously known as concierge) room - all the CRO said was the room would be about 100sq ft bigger - anyone have any info on these, where they are located, whats so special about them etc. Also anyone stayed club recently - we stayed here several years ago and the lounge was very small - is this the same?

Looking to have a few days relaxing after a cruise, so hope I have chosen the right resort.

Thanks

Gail

Gail - If you booked the BC Deluxe room, these rooms are located close to the quiet pool on floors 1 - 4. The view is of the quiet pool and has one window facing Crescent Lake (rooms on floors 1 - 3, 4th floor room does not have the window facing Crescent Lake, but does have a fabulous balcony, this is the room we stayed in). The room is approximately 100 sq. ft. larger than a regular room, large closet, the furnishings are the same as a regular room, just much more spread out. The BC lounge is small (this was March 2005), and did close a few hours each day. Let me know if you have any more specific questions, we really liked the extra sq. footage of this room and the balcony!

Gottalovedisney I would request a room "on Crescent Lake side of hotel", there are standard view rooms on that side of the resort. When you check in, kindly ask if they were able to accomodate your request. :thumbsup2

ms_mckenna - Have a great time, I know you have been planning. Hope your vacation is fabulous pixiedust:

Disneybride'03 - Thanks, like your posts too! Look forward to hearing about your trip!

To all the rest of you on your way soon (or later), come back and share!

I would not hesitate to go back to the BC at all! Loved the short walk to Epcot, and liked the boat to MGM.

It was great stay at the BC!

Marketplace has great gelato! The large is included on the snack plan!!

I love hearing positive trip reports! Thanks for taking time to post it. I have a few questions:

How was the boat ride to MGM? I hear it takes a long time for it to make it's way over there. Did you try walking there at all?
Approx how long did it take to walk to Epcot?

How was the CS meals at the hotel? I see that you're on the DDP, what did you order at the Marketplace? Did you eat anywhere else that you'd reccommend? I have ADR's for FF, Spoodles and Yacht Club Galley.

Thanks! :goodvibes

I posted pics of our view on the previous page....so, is that a standard view we wound up with?? I booked GV & I always have requested GAZEBO view when booking GV. I loved this view we had from our July room, though - esp if it is a GV. Some people told me it probably wasn't a GV, but a WV:confused3 ....I booked a WV last yr and it was directly over SAB and facing the BW & it was perfect. I loved this view we had recently for a GV, but if I paid for a WV I would have preferred closer to SAB.

Maybe too confusing the way I wrote it, lol.....sorry, just wondering if the view we did wind up with was a GV?? (it's what I booked) I'd just like to know for future trips and room location requests.

Thought I'd jump in and answer. We stayed at the BC last Novemer and did both. The walk took about 15-20 minutes (mind you we had DS so with a stroller). Wasn't bad at all.

We also took the boat, and yeah, it was a little slow, but if you're saving yourself for the day, it's not a bad way to go. And at the end of the day, I didn't care if took an hour to get back, as long as I didn't have to walk.

Either way was much quicker/better than taking a bus, IMO! :)

Thanks, Jazzgirl. It's good to know we can make the walk easily if we have to. I get seasick just looking at a boat, I'm a little nervous about starting our day that way.

I would say that you were upgraded to a Water View Room! Your pictures were great, the standard view room are further in closer to the bottom of the U. I think that "standard view" at YC / BC would not be of any type of water. Water View can be either a view of SAB or Crescent Lake or even quiet pool at BC (views of YC quiet pool are now standard view). So, I think you received a little pixie dust.

Edit - O.K. I understand your question better, you probably were further away from lobby and main elevator. We usually request to be close to lobby and SAB. We went to do laundry down the "long" hall and it is a walk if you would prefer to be closer to lobby, etc.

I don't know about the HA rooms but we have had standard, garden and water view rooms. I never had a bad view in any of the rooms. The worst view if you want to call it that was looking into a bunch of trees and I knew that the parking lot was on the other side but couldn't see it. For me the location is the best part of this resort. A five minute walk and I'm in Epcot. :woohoo: Hope you have a wonderful time.
Thanks so much, i know I am worrying about nothing, because for one thing I am lucky enough to be going again and for the second,It's Disney!!!!:rotfl: :dance3:

Thought I would jump in here as well.....we did walk to MGM from YC. Timed it - 15 minutes for DS15 and myself. DH and DS11 took the boat and we beat them. DS15 loves to do this! It is really a nice walk, not bad at all.

Also, your ADRs, :thumbsup2 for Yacht Club Galley. We tried this on the spur of the moment after arriving at Spoodles for our ADR a couple of weeks ago to find out they had changes their menu and some of our favorites were no longer on the menu. No more Fettucine Alfredo or NY Strip Steak on the menu at Spoodles. Yacht Club Galley was a fine substitute. We were pleasantly surprised.

Just have to bump this thread up and say

we are 3 weeks away from our frist trip to BC and I can hardly wait!:cool1: :cool1: :woohoo: :woohoo: :yay: :yay:

Have a really Magical trip:wizard: :wizard: and please let us know how youliked the BC when you get back.

Missnanse we check in tomorrow to a HA room. I will take pics and let you know how the layout is. We have a standard room booked as of now. I know all the w/c accessible rooms are either on the 2nd or 3rd floor I cannot for the life of me remember right now. They are right above the quiet pool. Give me a week or so and check back and I will post how it was. :)

Do you need to request a fridge? a coffee maker? The site says available at no charge, are they already in the rooms?

Is there a retractable clothes line in the bathroom?

Thank you!

Refrigerator and coffe maker are standard and already in all rooms. Yes, there is the retractable clothes line in the bathroom.

Have a great trip!

Thanks for this - do all these room have balconies, or is it just the room on the 4th floor? (I like sitting out at night with a drink or two).
Is the lounge still on the 5th floor? What was the food and drink offering like?

Sorry to ask so many questions - also do you have any photos of the room.

Thanks

Gail - The 2nd and 4th floor rooms have the big balconies. When we were there a couple of weeks ago I looked up to see and the 3rd floor room only has a couple of the standing room only balconies and of course the first floor has a nice patio.

The lounge was still on the 5th floor and I remember the offerings being pretty simple. Breakfast - cereal, bagels, fruit; Snack - fruit, Gold Fish, Pretzels, cookies; we were not around generally for late afternoon offering, but evenings - desserts (yum), cordials, beer. Also, they offered canned sodas and water to be poured into cups, tea, coffe, cappuccino machine, hot chocolate. Maybe someone who has stayed BC concierge more recently could chime in.

Sorry - no good pictures, this was before I really took good room pictures. I was looking on the DIS, as I remember a couple of months ago somebody posting some good pics of this room category.

Also, I just wanted to make sure you booked the Deluxe Room with queen beds (you have more than 3 in your party) because I believe there are also Deluxe rooms with king bed in another part of the resort.

Here is a link to an old Beach Club room map (some categories and such have changed), but the Deluxe rooms are 1557, 2557, 3557 & 4557.

We did not walk over to MGM too HOT! The boat ride wasn't bad at all, and while it isn't speedy it was just fine. Walking to Epcot, minutes really.

We ate at Spoodles and enjoyed it (dh said he wouldn't order the Cornish hen next time but liked everything else). We did eat our last CS at marketplace it was fine, very filling sandwich.

I posted it on the dining review board, under good thing my mom never....

That may help.

Thanks again for all the info - Not sure whether we have 2 beds or a king - there is only 2 of us - the booking lady just said we could have one of 6 deluxe rooms at the resort.

Good to know which rooms have a balcony, I'll have to request one as would be so dissapointed if I got there and didn't have one.
