This is reduced capacity?

Also keep in mind according to the availability calendar there are NO available reservations left unlike some days where there are.
This in itself will inflate things as it at it's maximum load potentially at once. Also if you compare this to any previous holiday weekend you'll see it's not that different.
Then take away large capacity shows like Frozen , Mickey and the Magical Map , several full capacity restaurants , etc. - all of these add up to more people having less options to spread out.
Then add in no fastpass to disperse crowds , and all of the above plus the covid restrictions create a unique and challenging situation.

From being at WDW 6 times since last August until just last month I say this : Bring REALISTIC expectations. Understand that with vaccination rates up people feel more comfortable to travel , this is a YMMV topic I am only throwing in because it is brought up in some circles. Understand that there are limited options and educate yourselves before you go, it may not be worth it to you right now and that is absolutely valid and okay. Do not expect the Disney you knew previously , instead go in with a go with the flow attitude.

In closing it's okay to be disappointed , it's okay to feel sad , it's okay to feel annoyed.
NEVER is it okay to berate anyone be it cast members or another person based on these feelings of needing to feel more "right".
I absolutely feel a decent amount of personal responsibility to do research beforehand in terms of reading the official website , using the app to understand it , asking questions to those who have been and to use google..for the love of god please google things lol. Youtube is also your friend !

I hope that regardless of how you feel about the parks operations and wait times , etc. , if you do choose to go it brings you the happiness you seek.
I'll be there from June 15th to June 19th and can't wait :)

The "holiday weekend shouldn't matter" thing matters a little though.
Less likely people are to just not show up. More likely to stay in the park longer/leave less because they can come in from out of town instead of super local (ie norcal) and as mentioned, could be higher staffing so closer to that 35% than other days.

We have seen nothing but unkindness from anyone who is even mildly inconvienced this weekend. We have seen so many CMs just attacked. It's horrible.

Sadly with 20 years of retail and customer service under my belt , I am not surprised.
Entitlement in general has increased over the years for multiple reasons and why I always say genuinely please and thank you to every CM , and try to smile ( pre covid) more to try and show I appreciate them being here. I still say to them thank you for being here for "us".
It may seem so small but there were days where that one positive thing got me through a 12 hour day of hell.

Karma comes back to people. I still recall years ago at Gibson Girl a woman berating a cast member behind the counter preparing orders that she needs to stop what she is doing and clean off a table for her to sit at. I immediately stepped in and told her if she is unable to remove the napkin from the table herself I will gladly clean the table with my own santizing wipes for her and that speaking to the cast member in such a way who is working hard isn't acceptable. The woman was shocked someone stood up to her and clearly embarrassed as she left after I cleaned the table for her.
I reminded her that it is closing time and they are doing all they can to facilitate all the guests and a little kindness and understanding could go a long way. The CM almost in tears thanked me.

We have been seeing a lot of "classism" this weekend. A lot of "i paid SO MUCH and we stay here ALL THE TIME and we have so much money and do you know who I am and youre just a minimum wage worker, etc."

It's... gross. Definitely the "i have money so I expect this and you are at my service and make less than me so you should do what I ask." It's gross

You seriously heard this from guests? That makes me so sad.

Wow! That’s awful! Luckily We haven’t seen anything less than pleasant so far! Knock on aaallllll the wood!

Ridiculous. People need to realize that it isn't always about them.
It takes everyone, not just the Cast Members to make Disneyland the happiest place on earth.
Be thankful that people can afford the money and time to just be there... many people can't.

I just got back on Friday night. Was there W-F. The lines were long because of distancing. They moved pretty fast. I was eager to try DL with the limited capacity, forgetting that the attractions would also be socially distanced, thus reducing capacity. On pirates, each boat has six rows=6 parties of 1-5 people. Now they are using two rows only, or 1/3 of the space. As a solo, I had my own car on RSR, and my own Millennium Falcon (that was not very fun doing it alone). This is making the lines long and the waits long too. Everything but RSR was a walk on at 9am, small wait until 11am, and then BAM, 65 minutes for IncrediCoaster, MFSR, Space Mountain, Splash.

This. When there's no shows, some closed rides and fewer restaurants, ride wait times for what's open are going to go up. Add on that pretty much everybody in the park had to buy tickets and people will be willing to wait longer. For example, if you were an annual passholder from Norcal, you may book 3 nights, visit the park for 4 days and skip the long afternoon lines. But if you now must buy tickets, you probably turn that into two full days and remain in long lines on those two days because you can't do an additional two half days at the beginning and end of the trip.

From my experience as a stock broker years ago, and life in general, the people who were truly rich were much more likely to be nice and genuine (especially if they made their wealth themselves), while the upper middle class folks who were pretending to be wealthier than they were (fair amount of money, but in serious debt from living a lifestyle above their means, and one emergency away from trouble) were demanding jerks.

So when I see that kind of attitude at a place like Disney, I see someone signaling how insecure they are about themselves. Maybe someone who stretched their credit cards with an unreasonable expectation of what it would be like.

In any case, be nice folks. Tip well too. Many people working off tips have a lot of catching up to do.

Agreed.

and, any service person we tipped this weekend was extremely overjoyed and thankful. These folks are so over worked and crazy busy. We tried so hard to be the exact opposite of the others we saw to try and help someones day get better.

That is terrible. For whatever reason, pre pandemic, I saw a lot of those kinds of people over Memorial and Labor day weekends. It was so bad that in recent years, we stopped going over those 2 specific weekends. I don't know what it is, but not surprised to hear this report.

Holiday weekend craziness!

Except that they have been at the same fixed capacity for several days now, and every day is shown as 'sold out.'

To be honest, I was park hopping all day Sat and Sun, and neither park seemed terribly mobbed once we got past the madness at the Harbor gate. None of the wait times seemed too terrible, but I had the good sense to go to RSR first thing in the morning, not 90-120 minutes after park opening (which is always the absolute worst time to go to the most popular ride).

I am curious, do we know this for fact (has Disney said this?), or is this assumed? I find it strange to see such variety in crowding between mid-weekdays and weekends/holidays. I mean, if it’s “fixed” and booked, shouldn’t all days be mostly the same?

I don't believe for one second that most weekdays have had 35% capacity. I think they capped those (internally) much lower, for staffing purposes.

The tantrums I heard were BAD.
I mean. Adult men screaming in hostess faces bad in front of their small children.

Yep. I saw this too. Cast member helpfully reminded a father (probably around 30-35 years of age) to pull their mask up over their nose, and the father made a scene and loudly said "pssssh man shut the front door" (you can get creative there) in front of their kids.

Being at one of the happiest places on earth is oddly a prime venue to see the worst in people.

wait times arent accurate. we were told 60 mins for TSMM, it really was like maybe 30-40mins...

No idea what the actual data is, as Disney does not release information. That said, the wait times look about the same today as they were over the weekend. And given how many people are 'working from home,' along with all the kids 'going to class' online, it is not too much of a stretch to imagine that weekday demand could match weekend demand. As horrible as the afternoon traffic has become lately, the morning traffic is still a shadow of what it was pre-Covid, which means that many people have still not properly returned to work, but they are still heading out somewhere every day.
