I had thought about taking my neice(5) along with us b/c she loves the PRINCESSES and with the FREE DINING PLAN, we couldn't go wrong. When I was browsing on Disney.com I noticed when looking up quotes that we COULDN'T book a "value" resort b/c my 2 yr old, who is FREE for EVERYTHING else is counted as a "person", but an infant isn't! This really makes no sense to me b/c we don't have to pay for her for anything else and she will be sleeping with us in a bed, not by herself, LOL. Neither us, nor my sister can afford the extra expense of paying DOUBLE for another resort room AND her tickets. We are barely going to be able to afford the "value"/FREE DINING PLAN on such short notice.

I thought a child under 3 who could sleep in a crib didn't "count"? :confused3

me, too. But when I put in the info for the ressie, I got a message about the room being for 4 people can ONLY be "2 adults and 2 children and 1 child UNDER 2". But in our case we would have 2 adults and 3 children b/c DD is 2. :confused3

I suggest calling WDW reservations and asking them.

I'd call too. I know when ds was little he wasn't counted until he was 3. Maybe policy changed, but I didn't think so.

This is a glitch in the system, and even some CMs have a hard time with this. If you are looking for prices on-line, you have to enter her as an infant, then it will come up correctly. I would definitely book it by telephone and if the CM tells you that your numbers exceed the maximum room occupancy tell them they need to enter your niece as an infant in a crib and then it will work right. Hope this helps, we had the same trouble with our two year old!

You have to either not enter the two year old in the system or book by the phone. The website has an issue with this and I have dealt with it personally (dd-10, dd-8, and ds-2) We are booked with POR 3 adults and 3 children and that resort only allows 5 but my 2 year old doesn't count. On the website however we could never get it processed! :sad1: Call into reservations and you will have no problems! ::yes::

you really do need to call. we stayed at Pop last year. it was me, DH, and 3 DD's, the youngest of which was 3. i was able to book it by phone. good luck!

I had this problem 1 step further. I was booking for a friend at AKL standard view and it wouldn't accept her 2 year old as being free and having 2 15 year olds it kept saying they needed 2 rooms. I called to make the ressie on the phone and the CM said there were no standard views left - she would have to take a savannah view (at the higher cost). I told him they were still available on line. So he said to book it on line without the 2 year old and then to call back and have the 2 year old added to the booking. What a headache!! I wish they would fix that glitch in the system because people that don't know might think they have to book 2 rooms.

Okay, thanks!!! I don't think they should have the "under 2" or the "2" options. They should have an "under 3" option, then "3", "4", etc.... That would make it soooo much easier since everyone under 3 is FREE.
You would still be able to select a crib if needed.

The CM told me that you are supposed to simply leave the 2 yo off all together. My 2 yo is NOT on my ressies at all, anywhere. I've asked several times if he needs to be on and have been told no each time. HTH :) I am curious about the one who had to call and add the 2 yo after booking online though. I wonder why they had you do that??

We just wanted to be sure the whole family was on the booking and since the CM said to call and put her on, that's what we did.

I hope by calling you can straighten this out. seems silly.

Call CRO and ask. My youngest is 2 and he isn't even showing up on my reservation (shows 2 adults and 1 child - DS#1, who is 5), although I know DS#2 was added because the CRO & I had a little conversation about kids while I was booking the reservation and he wasn't on my previous reservation, so I had to give his name.

Our daughter turns 2 the day before we leave... if we had stayed an extra 4 days like we really wanted to we would of had to have moved rooms! The $$ wasn't worth it so I guess we'll have to make do with a measly 10 day (wink... wink, we'll tough it out...) But I found that to be quite amusing... This is the last year we will be able to use a regular room.. :flower:

Many hotels want to know the exact number of people in each room, just in case an emergency situation occurs. That is most likely why they want them added on the reservation even though they are free.

Thinktink - The age cut-off is 3. If your child is turning 2 she is still free.

I have olso found this a frustrating issue with online booking. I called to make our ressies. Our twin 17 mo old daughters were not listed on our ressie. There was no problem with this at all when we went on our vacation May 25.
