We are going to have one day and one evening in MK. I know most of you will say this is not enough. But we have made the (difficult) decision to not do many attractions that we have out here at DLR. We have been to DLR many times, and because we live relatively close, we know that we will be back to DLR soon. WDW on the other hand, who knows when we will ever get back!

So these are our plans for our time in MK. Let me know what you think!

Tuesday 5/3 - arrive about 4:30
  • Carousel of Progress, People Mover, Monsters Inc.
  • free time...Main Street shops, maybe an attraction if there is time and minimal waiting
  • BOG at 6:25 p.m.
  • SDMT (FP+)
  • Mickey's Philharmagic (if time...if not, will do on Friday)
  • MSEP (FP+)
  • Celebrate the Magic/Wishes (FP+)

Friday 5/6 - EMH - arrive at gates by 7:30 a.m.
  • Buzz
  • Speedway
  • Barnstormer
  • some of these, depending on time and wait times...Dumbo, Pooh, Under the Sea, IASW, Haunted Mansion, Philharmagic (if didn't do it on Tuesday)
  • Magic Carpets of Aladdin
  • Country Bears
  • SDMT (FP+)
  • Hall of Presidents
  • Enchanted Tales with Belle (FP+)
  • CRT (1:00 p.m. ADR)
  • Splash (FP+)
  • Casey Jr. Splash 'n' Soak

I think this is a very achievable plan and you'll have a very nice visit. Our first time to DLR we had a short visit so we opted just for the attractions specific to DLR - so I totally get your approach.
Enjoy. PS - I love the Boardwalk Villas too!

One recommendation is that you may wish to tweak the following set:

  • Country Bears
  • SDMT (FP+)
  • Hall of Presidents
  • Enchanted Tales with Belle (FP+)

That's a zig zag back and forth and a more logical (from a park layout perspective) would be:

  • Country Bears
  • Hall of Presidents
  • SDMT (FP+)
  • Enchanted Tales with Belle (FP+)

Philarmagic almost always has a short wait - even mid-day when most attraction waits are at their longest. The later it gets, the more opportunity you'll have to hit the most popular rides.

TTA is fun after dark, but it also has short waits all day.

Other than FP though, we don't really PLAN our ride order.

While I appreciate your general approach, I suspect (hope) when you are actually there, and see BTMRR has no wait, you'll be tempted.

I think BTMRR is closed when we are there. ???

Also, I should have mentioned that we are not big coaster people. This will be our DD9's first time on Splash (if she'll even go) and I'm trying to convince her to go on Everest. :goodvibes

Yes, that would make most sense. I feel like it is hard to do 2 FP+ attractions back-to-back because the timing has to be just right...end of one window and start of another. ??? We will see when we get there, I suppose!

Except that there's always an hour between FP. the pattern we've fond is to use our 1st FP towards the end of our window. (Just don't cut it so close you miss it!) The second and third we use at the front of our time window. Just after you use your 3rd, go to a kiosk to get FP#4. Even fairly late at night, there may well be some left! If the kiosk has no line, it is worth a quick stop.

With #4FP, the earlier in the day, the more choices. EXCEPT, there's is an AM/PM counterpoint to using FP too early or too late: morning and late night lines are often short.

Even still, there's usually plenty of time between #2 and#3 to go on something. If you are in Tomorrowland- the TTA is usually walk-on, and takes 10minutes. In Fantasyland, the carrousel is always walk-on.

However, while I think HoP, ETw/B, and CoP are great attractions, they can be tricky to fit into our schedule. HoP runs 20-25minutes and only starts once every hour. If you arrive at 12:10, then you have to wait almost an hour until the next show starts. That's a big chunk of dead time. In that amount of time, it would often be easy to grab a snack AND ride Haunted Mansion. Of the three CoP is easiest, because of the segmented theater. The actual show is 20minutes.

Personally, we'd rather walk a little more, than spend an hour waiting around doing nothing.

bummer. BTMRR is rather tame. I love it!!! Goofy's Barnstormer and 7D are even milder.

Where Splash is concerned, try to approach it from the direction of Haunted Mansion- along the back dock-style path if possible. If you approach it from Pecos Bills then you get a close up view of the big drop. The biggest drop is only 80 feet, but it looks bigger because when you walk by you can't see the bottom. If you have her to count off four seconds, the drop is shorter! (about three).

Test Track is also pretty tame. It is just fast.

EE is a bit more intense. I find RNRC less intense. If she likes EE, then RNRC is no biggie! RNRC is only 90 seconds total! Both are very smooth though, so you don't really feel the size of the drops. Oh, with EE and BTMRR - there is a big difference between the front and the back! Ask to sit near the front for a more tame experience. (though maybe not the very front if that seems scary.) also, if you don't want to see the drop before you ride, than approach it from the direction of Kali, though seeing the EE drop has less impact than seeing the Splash drop.

In my opinion, EE is the most intense ride in the park! I love it, but the dark part of the ride feels pretty extreme.

You mightttt want to try to get her on to RNRC. Hear me out. It sounds more intense because of the upside loop. But I was a TOTAL WIMP (wouldn't even do Splash Mountain) until I went on RNRC when I was 11. Realizing that a loop was barely noticeable - and such a smooth ride without a HUGE drop - made me realize rollercoasters are no big deal. :)

Plus on RNRC you are completely strapped down. I think it also helps that it is in the dark.

With your free time I would consider picking up Sorcerer of the Magic Kingdom Cards or Pirates Adventure Game. Both can be short and each provide a small free souvenir (map and cards for SoTMK). I would put Haunted Mansion and Peter Pan (regular line less than 20 minutes) in the "some of these" on day 2. You can appreciate the differences between the haunted mansion ride, and the queue line for Peter Pan.
Another notable attraction that has a difference is the Jungle Cruise (tiger temple)

This is the first I've heard about Hall of Presidents only having 1 show an hour! That could be a huge time-suck!

So, does it have a "next show" sign or something (like they had at Muppets 3D in DCA) so you can do something else and come back? Or is there a certain time that is best to plan on arrival at that attraction? Like always on the :45 of every hour?

I've never heard of Hall of Presidents having only 1 show per hour. I know that the show lasts about 25 minutes, and we usually check with a CM at the door to find out how much time is remaining of the current showing (to see if we have enough time for a snack or a bathroom stop, etc.). Then when the current show is over, we usually get right in for the next show to start up momentarily.

I looked over your plan, and I think you've planned it perfectly for minimal wait times for the attractions you will be doing.
