We are going to try to go to MNSSHP but not on Halloween---we will be there from Oct 19-23. Can you fill me in and give me some tips about this event? How about a great place for PS? Thanks. Oh, I hope MNSSHP will be offered when we will be there!

You will love it, and yes during your time frame you should be able to attend a party. We went last year on the 11th. We had dinner at 5 at LTT and it was excellent. For us Canadians it was thanksgiving weekend so the meal was perfect. My only advice would be to do fantasyland when you see a good wait time. We kept thinking we will come back when families with young kids left for the night but that never happened. We really did not have a long wait for any other ride. Candy stations move at a good pace and picture spots tend to fill up early with not much of a wait near the end of the night. Have fun!

We have gone the last two years alone and this year will be bringing the 5 DCherubs, well it may be 4 if 15 yo DS does not do better on his report card! Anyhow last year we made PS at Chrystal Palace, which was a great thing to do for us. The 1st year we went on a Sunday night with minimal crowds and last year on a Friday and it seemed quite a bit more crowded! Whatever is offered when we are there, from 10/19-26, we will try to do the Sunday one or a weeknight. Hope you have a magical trip.

Yes it is and the night we were there the food was excellent as was the character interaction.

You will enjoy MNSSHP. We did it for the first time in October. We actually bought tix and did it two nights which I found was well worth the extra $$$'s. The first time was on Friday evening. We decided this night we would spend most of our time seeing the festivities and just a few of the rides (though we got on quite a bit amazingly). We then went on Sunday and did the opposite. We only saw the few festivities we really enjoyed (e.g. Parade, headless horseman--not to be missed!). Then we spent a considerable amount of time on the rides.

What I found was I was better off saving a day on my hopper and making an early PS ressie (we did LTT at 5:20). You can get in the park after 4:00 I believe without using a PH day. It really saved some extra money.

We dressed both days. We oddly found more people dressed Sunday than on Friday. As well, the crowds follwed the same pattern--busier on Sunday than Friday. We were very surprised! We were there the third week of October. The ride times were never more than 5-10 minutes if that.

We did only visit a few candy stations. My DD is 16 and we chose to use the time doing the rides instead. We found at the end of the evening there were no lines at all and we'd stop at a few to get some candy.

I truly enjoyed this and cannot wait to go again.

as we found it to be not overly crowded, especially towards the latter hours of the party. If you have toddlers, you may want to skip the PS and in park sit down dining. We took it easy in the AM and afternoon, knowing DD1 would "poop out" early if we pushed her all day, then took her to the party at night. Even when we took it easy, and ate dinner at the AS food court, DD bopped around on the bus on the way to the party, got through the first parade and a bit if trick or treating, a few rides (very few), and boom, out like a light. DH thought we should leave and go back to the resort, but DD sleeps like a log, so we decided (ok, I did) to let her sleep in the stroller while we watched the fireworks, I had my fortune told, etc. We even took her on a few rides while she slept, which didn't bother her one bit. I definetly would not have disturbed her slumber if I hadn't noticed during the beginning of our trip that she would nap during the day on the rides with no problem. Then, after an hour or two of sleeping. she was up again and happy, even at MNSSHP. We took the opportunity to get some good night time pictures without a ton of people in them. Then, back to the room for cocoa.
It really depends on your kids and their schedules, but this worked out well for us.

We were in Disney 10/20/03 - 10/27/03, and did MNSSHP on 10/26 (Sunday). We had such a blast and we will do it again !!! A few things....Go to the back of the park when you first enter to get your pictures taken, there are a lot less people there, as most people stop at the first couple photo stops as soon as they enter the park in front. The lines here were very long. Also, don't worry about getting not enough candy, I know when it comes to candy it seems that my kids can never have enough--because as the night starts winding down, the cast members start throwing in handfuls of the bite-sized candy. Although it seems very crowded, the park seemed to empty out after the parade. We walked around and did a few more rides. Have a great time !
