So where I left you we had just finished up our shopping and were headed back to the poly for a nap...
Charlotte laid down and went instantly to sleep. I took a nap for about an hour. While I was sleeping Bob went to the pool bar for a swim and a beer. When he got back I took a walk around the Poly to take some pics and really soak up the beauty that this resort offers. It really is so beautiful words can not describe it!
Seriously these pictures make me sad I am not there right now!
When I returned to our room Charlotte was still sleeping and now Bob was too. I quietly updated my trip journal and let the two of them rest. Charlotte woke up on her own around 4:30 and Bob around 5:00. Everyone got freshened up, I left Charlotte in her Cinderella dress from this morning because I wanted to try and get a picture of Charlotte by herself in front of the castle. I packed the dress I wanted her to ware for the evening in my park bag. We were out the door by 5:30. We were walking through the gates of the Magic Kingdom by 5:50.
The first thing we did was get the pictures of Charlotte by herself in front of the castle. Of course Stitch had to be in it!
This was not exactly what I wanted it to be, however that is a reason for another trip right?
Then we went straight back to Tomorrow Land. This is an area we often over look. We usually start in Adventure Land and by the time with hit TL we are tried! Can you believe in 6 trips I have never been on the people mover or space mountain? I just really can not explain how I have managed to avoid those rides all my life but they were on the to-do list this time! I went right over and got my Space Mountain FP. I did not write down the time but I am pretty sure it was 8:30-9:30 which would work out well with the rest of the evening plans!
Then we rode the people mover. All three of us loved this! There was no line and it was so relaxing. It was great fun! We started walking in the general direction of our dinner ADR, but I wanted to check Peter Pan again, the line was still 50 minutes and FP return time was 9:50-10:50 a little late for us, so we thought that is one thing we will save for next time. So, we just made our walk to the Beast's castle for our dinner.
On our way we stopped for a PP pic of just me and DH:
We have had a picture taken of the two of us there every single trip and I wanted to keep that tradition.
We also stopped and got a pic of DD with the Cinderella fountain:
Better than the castle pic!
We checked in at 6:39 for our 6:55 ADR. Remember this, its important!
I asked the CM at the gate if we could use the restroom, DD was in need of a diaper change and I wanted to change her dress. When we went inside, DD caught a glimpse of the ballroom and she was amazed! She just kept trying to get in there. It looked exactly like the movie and she was excited! So I took my very excited two year old outside to wait for our table to be called. If you have not been to BoG yet, you wait outside the restaurant for your table and a host/hostess comes out to get you and the big front doors open up and you can see inside. At first DD was being really good patiently waiting for our turn. Then, about 15 minutes into our waiting DD started to take matters into her own little hands. She would see a host come out and call a name and then she would run quickly inside as the doors opened for the other family. Then my DH would run after her. We had to corral her in the corner, she was not happy.
Then I started thinking, it had been a long time since we checked in, I looked at my phone and it was now 7:30 almost an hour after we checked in, and a half and hour after our ADR time.
I was not happy! It is hard enough to get a two year old to wait, much less this long! Please trust me I am not a complainer, but I was hot and tried and Charlotte was hot, hungry and restless, which was making me and DH cranky! I went over to the CM at the gate and asked him what was taking so long. First he asked if we were walk ups, nope we had an ADR, so he gave me some answer like different sizes of parties sometimes take longer than others. I told him we were a party of 3, not 20! I saw 3 more parties of 3 who came up way after us go in, and I went to the CM again. This time he said he would check into it. He came back with a totally different attitude and very apologetically told me it would only be a few more minutes. Finally, at 8:00pm an hour and five minutes after our ADR our name was called. I may or may not have said "Its about time!"
(I really did not mean to say that out loud, but it was a bad moment!)
A very nice hostess took us to a lovely table in the main ballroom and it was so beautiful! I took a few pictures, but not enough to express the beauty of the restaurant:
The front door
The ceiling
Charlotte was so preoccupied here looking around she did not even notice we strapped her into the high chair! I think she really felt like she was in the movie. Our waitress came by and we ordered drinks and appetizers. Bob had a coke and I had the all natural lemonade. This lemonade was so good! I really want one right now. For apps we both ordered the French Onion soup and we got Charlotte a fruit cup. When the appetizers arrive Charlotte ate all of her fruit cup quickly. So, DH let her try his soup, which she totally took over and started eating. In her defense that soup was really, really good! While we were having our soup the manager came up to our table. He told us the Beast was so very sorry the staff at his castle forgot about us. The beast wanted Charlotte to have a special toy to thank you for patiently waiting. They handed DD a large stuffed Beast. This made her day! If you read my PTR you know DD loves Beauty and the Beast, but not for Belle. She loves the Beast!
The manager also noticed that DD had DH's soup and had another one sent out for DH right away! He also had a member of his staff check on us through out the meal (but not in an annoying way).
We were barely finished with our apps and dinner came. I ordered the Steak and Fries with green beans, and DH got the Shrimp and scallops. Charlotte had most of my fries and some of my steak. It was delicious! Bob said his dish was wonderful. Our waitress was a nice as she could be, however she was rather slow. After we were finished with our dinner, she brought the dessert cart over to our table and then left! It was so hard to keep a wiggly two year old away from a cart of cake. When she finally returned we picked our desserts. Bob got the chocolate creme puff and I let Charlotte pick for me, she went with the triple chocolate cupcake. We split it, I can not believe how delicious this was, OMG it was great! DD really seemed to enjoy her half as well and DH said he really liked his. After our desserts the manger came back to check on us again he also wanted to make sure we got a photo in the center of the ballroom:
He then wanted us to be sure we got in line to meet the master, which we did. The line was fairly short. Charlotte was so excited, she was like most little girls when they meet the princesses. When it was finally our turn Charlotte walked right up to the Beast and had the most epic meet and greet ever! Please forgive me for the following photo bomb! This was a magical night for us:
I thought at this point we were done but then:
The Beast came back for Charlotte!
He kept walking her around and showing her things in the library, it was so so so cute! The CM with him said The Beast is so used to little kids being afraid of him, that he was excited to meet one that loved him! The PP photographer said "Its not everyday a little girl comes in with a Beast doll!" The Beast spent a long time with Charlotte. I felt so bad for everyone in line behind us, but everyone said it was just so cute they were okay with waiting! I can not put into words how magical this meal was. It started off so bad, but became a dream come true for my little girl! All I can say is that is why Disney is always so crowded, you can not get that kind of magic anywhere else!
After a much longer dinner than I had anticipated, I only had a few minutes until my Space Mountain FP was no longer valid. So we went over that way. Charlotte noticed the Stitch dance party while we were on our way to SM, so Bob took Charlotte over there. He did not take any pictures, but he said Charlotte loved the dance party. Then, I took my first ride on Space Mountain. And... it was AMAZING! I can not believe it took me 31 years to get on this ride! Wow!
My ride photo:
We had originally planed on going back to the poly to watch the fireworks from the beach, but our dinner took much longer than we planned so we were not going to make it back in time. So, rather than getting stuck in a crowd we just kept walking. I put a light-up Cinderella in Charlotte's Easter basket so we got that out and she "lit" the way back to the monorail for us. She really enjoyed that! We got right on the monorail and were back to the poly in a few minutes. We gave Charlotte a quick bath and put her to bed. Bob went and got us a Lapu Lapu to split. We sat on the patio and enjoyed our last night at the poly. Overall, we had a great last full day!
Coming soon... We say good-bye!
