This is Literally The Best Trip Ever! *Complete 11-10*

Just stumbled upon your TR and when I saw you're a fellow St. Louisian I had to read! Always nice seeing someone from your area! I see your DH is a big Cards fan... and so are we! Tonight we just had to buy tickets for Game 5 on Wednesday! Go Cards!

Sounds like you guys have had a great time so far... even with the lovely 2 year old moments! It reminds me A LOT of our last trip in April. Our youngest DD was a month shy of two and our trip was full of tantrum after tantrum after tantrum. While we were in the moment it seemed like the worst vacation ever, but then we got home and realized that it really wasn't so bad. We really did have a great time... and I quickly had to plan another trip ASAP! So we'll be back in May with my in-laws in tow this time! They were with us on our first trip to WDW and many times I wished we were there by ourselves, but after experiencing it we realized that maybe those extra set of hands were better to have than not have! But DH and I WILL get our date night this time around :)

Can't wait to read the rest of your adventures!

Yay! I am so happy to have another St. Louisian on board!
We had a lot of two year old moments and they were pretty bad, but the good defiantly outweighed the bad. I really wish my parents or the in-laws would go with us. When I see the big families at Disney I get a little jealous, I would love to do a big family trip. Both of our families just don't understand going to Disney time and time again.

Oh a date night in Disney... a girl can dream :cloud9:

I am really happy to have you a long, an update should be coming in the next day or so, depending on how my two year old does.

I'm lucky because my MIL is as obsessed with Disney (but not the planning... that's where I come in!) as I am! In fact, she's the one that made me a Disney lover! When our oldest DD was born she said to me, "I try not to be the meddling mother in law, but there is one non-negotiable... the first time she goes to Disney, I HAVE to be there!" I had never been to WDW and was reluctant to plan a trip because I thought it was going to be like spending a week at Six Flags. I gave in, started researching and quickly found myself becoming more and more excited (and obsessed) to finally get there! Once there, I was hooked!

We told them that we were planning our next trip for May and she told my husband that we better tell them when and where we're staying, because if we didn't they would hunt us down. Ha ha! I thought she'd think we were crazy when telling her that we're going for 10 days, but her response, "Sounds great to me! Sign us up!" We are very lucky indeed!

Can't wait for the next update!

That is so funny sounds like some wonderful in-laws!

Well....I have to apologize for yet another absence. DD and I took a last minute (we decided on Friday to leave on Sunday) trip to visit some friends in central IL. We went to a pumpkin patch, out to dinner, shopping and spent lots of time playing! So I let my TR go while we were away.

I do have to admit though before my last update I was kind of dragging my feet because I did not want this to end. But, I am going to go ahead and finish it up and start a new PTR, so lets get on with this show! :)

Day 7
July 31, 2013

Today was an early start for us! It was our last full day and we had a very important morning date!
I got up around 7:00 am, which is super early for me. Bob got up around 7:15 and we woke Charlotte around 7:30. Charlotte was not happy about the early wake-up time but when I told her she would get to wear her Cinderella dress, she perked right up! She was so happy to wear her Cinderella dress. I wanted to be leaving the room by 7:45 and we were headed out right on time! On our way to the monorail we had to stop and quack at every single duck! It took us forever to get to the monorail. At the time it was so annoying, but looking back on it, it was a great memory. Now, every time we see ducks I think about that moment! Anyway, as we made it up to the monorail station, a monorail was just pulling away! But it was just a few seconds before another one came so, it was not a big deal! We arrived at the MK by 8:15. We had an 8:30 ADR for CRT. I had hoped to get there a little earlier to take some pictures and really take in the empty Main Street. But, we had to hustle just a little.

We went in the entrance for early ADR's and made our way on to an empty main street. That was such an amazing experience. It was like the MK was there just for us. Everything was new, quiet and peaceful. All I can say is for me this was surreal. We stopped for a few pictures as we made our way to the castle.

Charlotte was still waking up and a little crabby. I really wanted to get a picture of her alone in front of the castle but she would not let us put her down.

After a few pics we checked in at the castle. I was so excited about this meal! It was one of the highlights of our last trip. It was such a special experience and I could not wait to share it with Charlotte. She LOVES the princess movies so I thought she would like meeting the princesses. After all, she was so excited to be dressed up like Cinderella. Remember that happy smiling child I had that ran right up to all the costume characters with giant heads? Yeah, she was not in the castle with us...

After checking in we went straight in to meet Cinderella. When it was our turn I told Charlotte to run up to Cinderella and she just stood there and cried! :sad2: What? This was her favorite movie, I thought she would be so excited, nope, she just screamed! The CM suggested we go up as a family. DD did not cry, but she was less than happy.

Yup not impressed, not at all.

They took us upstairs to our tabled and Charlotte claimed down. We ordered and things seemed to be looking up. Just as our drinks were served Snow White came by, and Charlotte started screaming again! I picked her and we managed a photo:

Isn't that a beautiful moment? :rotfl2:

Then Sleeping Beauty made her way over:

Yes, that is a two year old rolling her eyes! Sleeping Beauty tried really hard to interact with DD, she was so sweet and kind. DD however, was not having it!

Then, our food came. I got the quiche and DH got the Steak and eggs. They gave Charlotte french toast sticks, but all she wanted to eat were the cinnamon rolls and fruit from the appetizer plate. The food was all amazing! While we were eating Jasmine paid us a visit:

Charlotte could not be bothered to put her cinnamon roll down to meet Jasmine! It was the same Jasmine we meet a few days ago in EPCOT and she remembered us!

At this point Charlotte was just done with the princess dining and I was so disappointed! I really thought she would like this. Then Ariel came by.

You can't tell from this picture, but DD loved her. She was telling her all about eating breakfast with her sisters and Charlotte hung on to every word! She even smiled and laughed at her! There was something about this Ariel that clicked with DD. She has been really into The Little Mermaid since that day. We watch it all the time! When I asked her what she wanted to be for Halloween she said "Ariel!" She also sings "Under the Sea" all the time! She was the only princess DD hit it off with.

After our meeting with Ariel we did the wishing ceremony which Charlotte liked:

After that I think we were all ready to go. We were very anxious to get out and enjoy the park before it got too crowded!

I really wanted this experience to be the kind you see in the commercials for WDW. I wanted that moment where she ran up to Cinderella and got lost in her giant dress. It did not go as I had planned. I was so worried DD would be afraid of the mascot type characters with giant head, I never guessed that she would had the princesses! I am not sorry we tired it, but we will wait several trips before we try CRT again! Never fear though, this day was about to get so much better...;)

Two year olds are do unpredictable. It is so funny she did better with the costume characters than the princess. It looks like you guys made some great memories!

How was the pumpkin patch?

an update--i'm so excited! :yay: I hope you a fun few days away!

:rotfl: I LOVE the picture of charlotte and aurora! that is hilarious! it doesn't matter if it was commercial worthy--it's a great memory! I'm glad she had fun with ariel though. I loved how ariel signed her name with the bubbles!

isn't it so awesome to be on an empty main street? one year we actually got a picture with no one behind us. it was crazy and has never happened again, but so so magical!

hey--do you see what I see? charlotte (who looks adorable in her Cinderella dress, by the way) sort of has a hidden mickey in her pink flower!

Great pictures on Main Street!

Sorry CRT didn't go as planned. That is definitely the risk with 2 year olds! That's great she liked Ariel though. I am surprised how uninterested DD is in Ariel. I thought she'd be a favorite but no, not yet anyway!

Haha the pics of Charlotte with the princesses are so funny!! You can tell she wasn't very entertained by them. I can see how she might have just saw them as "just another human" lol instead of the colorful and very big headed Mickey, Minnie, chip, Dale, etc. if that makes sense!!!! :)
Maybe she will enjoy the princesses more when she is older. That's if you decide to go back to CRT. It's kind of pricey but my DD likes to eat there.

Hey! I'm in STL too! I want in on this STL Dis meetup! :)
I have an 18 month old and we're planning to take him in jan 2015 right before he turns three. So I've been reading toddler trip reports getting ideas and seeing what to expect :)
I'm enjoying your report. So sad she didn't enjoy the princesses! :(

Oh two year olds, they are so very hard to deal with, but so cute at the same time! :rotfl: I am convinced that is why God made them cute, so we could deal with all their drama!

The pumpkin patch was so much fun! Here is a quick pic or three!:

I know I always look back on that breakfast and laugh, so we have a memory, even if it isn't a picturesque one!:rotfl: I am glad she found a friend in Ariel though!

Haha, I never noticed that hidden Mickey before, good eye!

Great pictures on Main Street!

I sure wish I knew what was going on in their little minds. At two they get such strong opinions, and they rarely make sense to me! I really thought that would go differently, but you just never know!

You know I never thought of it that way, but good point. Maybe they just didn't have the cartoon appeal the big headed characters have. I think we wait 4 or 5 years before we go back when DD can really understand the concept and how cool it is to be in the castle! You live and learn, right?

Let's do it!!! Lol

Thank you! You know taking a two year old to Disney can be challenging but DD had such a good time I would do it a again in a heartbeat! You all will have a great trim!

Oh my gosh! More STL people!! We really do need to meet up!

We MUST do a STL dismeet! That sounds like great fun!

Let's do it! What area of town are you guys in? I'm in university city (though we go out to st Charles all the time cause my family lives there)

I'm actually a little west, in Warrenton! But I'm used to driving... I'm a nurse at Mercy (St. John's) so have to drive there 2 times a week!
