This is in poor taste, right?

I don't particularly find it humorous. Obviously, many do find it funny, but if someone who has had a child who was hit by a car and had passed away or was critically injured, I doubt they'd find it funny, and it might make them feel even worse than they already feel, having lost a child, just by reading those words on a shirt.

Just showed it to my boys. They're still laughing.

Harmless - come on cant something be funny anymore w/o offending someone? I would let my kids wear it. Offended people will not cease to exist he he doesn't get the shirt. They'll just find something else to be offended by.

I agree- I think its pretty darn funny!
When we go back to school shopping my duaghter always searches for that perfect first day back to school shirt- last year it was "Hey I am out of bed and dressed what more do you want"....this year it was "excuse me, I'm VIP"...

Honestly, if you want to avoid offending everybody... you might as well just stay home. Though that might offend someone, I'm sure. The point here is there are no clothes out there that won't offend SOMEONE, yknow?

I think there is a difference between offending someone by words on a t-shirt, vs. reminding them that they had a child (or relative or friend) who was hit by a car.

I think it's funny but then I deal with difficult situations through laughter and joking.

My sister must be that way too because she has a severely autistic child who has a shirt with an arrow pointing to the side that says "I'm with neuro-typical"! Another one says "I do my own stunts" and shows someone falling down...he has a gait problem and falls a lot. We all think it's funny. She is a fantastic mother and I never gave it a second thought about being offensive.

I won't have TIME to honk.... I'll be BACKING OUT of a parking space!! ;)

You wouldn't even see the shirt while backing out but you would if your were pulling out foward ;):rotfl:

I see shirts all the time about being a terrorist or about being a suicide bomber.. I watched 3 of my buddies get blown up in the vehicle a few yards in front of me. Yes, seeing those shirts reminds me of it, but I don't think they should not wear the shirts because it could be upsetting to me.

I call those the "too close to home people" and I have zero time for them. Those are the people who don't like the word police but then want to ban the word retard because it hits a little close to home. Or they think the "they shake me shirt" is funny but they know someone how died in a car accident so the "honk before you hit me shirt" isn't funny.

Like I said earlier, I do my own thing and don't care if it offends someone else, especially when it is humor based. I invite anyone to do, say, or wear anything and promise I won't get offended.

Although when you look to see what you hit you would have that moment of "Now that is Ironic, he probably should have seen that coming". It would be like seeing someone barreling out of control through an intersection with a bumper sticker that says "I'm not as think as you drunk I am".

Every once in a while the Irony Fairy makes an appearance in real life.

As long as it's not the "I <3 Hot Moms" shirt I saw on a tween boy once, it's ok with me.

The problem is that some people do have real life experiences that have changed their outlook forever. As a result, some things are still funny but other things "do hit too close to home." If you've never been called to an emergency room and been told a family member was hit by a car and is dead, you won't get it. It's a life-changing experience and from then on, you'll never, ever find humor in someone being hit by a car. It brings up too many very painful memories. So if you haven't experienced it, please don't judge those who have. And yes, I speak from experience.

Having said that, I wouldn't be offended by the shirt nor would I find it funny.

Do I think the shirt is funny? Not really. Would I be offended if I saw someone wearing it? Probably not.

I think I would find it somewhat funny if a teen or adult was wearing it, especially out biking. I could see the humor in that. It just seems like an odd saying for a young child's shirt. Perhaps I'm reading way too much into the whole thing.:)

As far as the "They shake me" shirt for an infant, it just makes me cringe. I don't like it.:sad2:

And no, I don't personally know anyone that has been hit by a car or shaken as an infant.

I think that people should wear what they want as long as profanity or nudity or racism isn't involved. People could probably be offended by pretty much everything.

I don't think I can post the site because the title has what might be a banned word in it and there are also some more offensive (if you are offended by such things) shirts there. If you Google "they shake me baby shirt" it will be the first link.

Thank you!!!!

I just wanted to say you have a fun username and tag!:thumbsup2

That's fine if you don't care if you offend others. But I happen to care if I do.

I think it's funny, I was hit by a car in 4th grade. DH thinks it's funny, he was hit by a car when he was 13 and his leg needed several surgeries and skin grafts. He said "If I think the shirt is funny, its funny."
