I had so much fun making the candy bouquet for my friend that I decided I'd make one for my new neighbors that just moved in this week. You guys ought to try it. It's fun and it's not that hard.

Great job on the candy bouqet!

And your daughter's new picture is beautiful!

The photographer did a great job. Very candid, natural. My sons headshots looked so posed!

BTW, the bouquets look great. Did your coworker like it?

Cindy B,

Yes, she was very surprised and the center of attention.

mommytotwo,

How did you make that bouquet?

I just hot glued (low temp glue gun) sticks to the back of the candy and stick them into a foam frog in the box. To make the paper, you fan fold celeophane sheets. Wrap a wire around the middle and stick them in. Easy! You can also make flower such as roses, but they are a little tricker.

That looks great! I'm sure your new neighbor will like it. :)

Thank you. Looks like something fun that I may try. Around how much did you spend to make it look like that? Would I need alot of candy? What kinds do you have in it?

The initial investment is a bit steep. The celeophane can be bought at Michaels, but it is cheaper if you find a floral supplier on the internet. On the internet, the cellophane was $5.22 a role for 100 ft, the boxes come in packages of six and cost $5.40 for a package. The sticks, floral tape, foam frog and glue gun can all be purchased at Michaels for very little. I bought the candy in big bags (I have tons left). The bags were like 2 for $5.00. I put in Hershey bars, Twix bras, Kit Kat bars and minature Snickers and Milky Ways. I threw in a couple of truffles just because the looked pretty. I also added a spray which I got from the floral supplier (the tall grass looking thing). They come in packages of 12 for $3.75. I would estimate that it cost around $10.00 for all of the supplies. You can put in as much candy as you want. I put in about 15 pieces.

I've ordered some different types of candy. I want to try something a little different next time. If I can get to where I'm halfway decent at this, I might consider starting a business. I'm still in the exploration stages.

What are those sticks called? I thought those looked like regular sized candy bars are they the miniture ones?

The sticks I used were just regular plant stakes. You can buy hyacinth sticks (not sure on the spelling) at floral supply places. Next time, that is where I will get mine. Some of the candy bars were regular size and some were minatures.
