This is either madness... or brilliance; declansdad, pooksma and declan...update10/16

Nice pictures of a fun day. I like the way Declan has two arms up, being that Dumbo is such a thrill ride! That's cute. Don't you wish you could jump right back into that friendly little elephant right now? Sorry that Ma didn't get to see Mary Poppins. Maybe you could do a character breakfast that she appears at sometime. Your castle picture is very pretty.

Ma is very sorry too. We are planning a 'rents only trip for next August and I will get to see her then!

Great castle photo!:thumbsup2

You might want to try the character breakfast at the GF. We saw Mary Poppins, Alice & Mad Hatter, Pooh & Tigger. Food is great too.

Sounds like a great finish to the day! I was laughing at Declan's protest of Small World. :)

I'm not bored...keep it comin'!!

Thanks for hanging in with us.

Thanks MeMom, that was about as close to the Castle as we got this trip.

I'm not bored either!! Waiting with anticipation for each installment - anything to keep the magic alive for another day, week, month...until next April anyway!

My older kids protest a bit about Small World too, but they sing it for days afterwards!!!

Maybe we should do one update a month to help you out. ;)

Thanks for the suggestion. We haven't been there before.

Let see if i can remember another day.

August 17th.

Since we didn't have an breakfast ADR today, we thought why not make the rope drop at Studios. We made it and I must say, no big deal, at least not 100 feet back from the front. After they let us past the rope, we and the other 99.99% of the people headed down Sunset for another first, Rockin' Rollercoaster. I made a quick stop at ToT for FPs while pooksma and Declan went to get in line. The wait wasn't too bad and before you know it we were standing in from of one of the best bands in the world, Aerosmith and you know what, they invited to their concert. Off to the limo we went and waited for the freeway to clear. I must admit that I was a bit nervous about this one. Disney has been the extent of my Roller Coasters so I had never been upside down before. The launch I thought would be cool and it was and before you know it, we were inverted. WOOHOO!!!. Now I was wondering, is there another one....upside down we go again. My only complaint is this ride is too short. This one must be done again, too bad the wait was already 50 minutes

We still had to wait for the ToT FPs so we looked for other things to do. Since there isn't much open at EMH, we headed for Star Tours. The ride was a walk on. It was our CM's birthday so we all wished her Happy Birthday before we took off.

After the ride we played around in the giftshop. Here is our little princess.

Next up was Muppets 3D with about a 10 minute wait. Pooksma reminded me to look for this.

OK, it's was time to go back to ToT for our second ride ever. Picked up FPs for Indy on the way by and walked on to ToT while the stand by line said 40 minutes. Once again Declan thought this was much better than waiting in line. We walked right up to the CM and were stopped because we were about to have our first experience with the Dream Team. YES!!! Unfortunately, he walked right past us to the car they just filled and gave them all Dream FPs while we were ushered to the opposite car. Bummer!

We were getting a little hungry so we stopped for a snack. Little did we know that High School Musical Pep Rally was about to make an appearance. Declan recognized the music right away and off we went to see if we could still find a spot to watch. With Declan on my shoulders, he was able to watch from about 4 rows back. Next thing you know they were inviting kids up to dance so guess who went.

When the show ended, we had about 20 minutes or so before Indy so we headed for the theatre. Declan decided we should sit in the front row and I thought that was a great idea. I was determnied to get picked as an extra and I thought these primo seats would help. When the casting director asked for extras I jumped up and screamed my head off but to no avail. I guess it just not going to happen. After the show we did manage to meet one of the big performers.

Pizza Planet was next and then the rest of our afternoon at Studios in hte next installment.

Have a great evening.

Wow, just read all 10 pages. Thanks for the great pre-trippie and TR! Beautiful family. Aren't 6 yo boys the best?

Thanks for the suggestion. We haven't been there before.

The two times we tried it we made our ADR for about as late as possible so it was really more of a brunch for us. We found the character interaction to be really great as the place started to clear out and we were one of the last families left.

So ideally we would start out early at MK and then go to GF for an 11:30ish ADR and then from GF we could go anywhere-back to MK, back to the resort or any other park.

Thanks for joining us. Sorry I was typing the last part as you were reading.

6 yo boys are so great we have decided, much to his chagrin, that next summer he will be staying with Papa and Meme while we do an adults only trip.:lmao:

Actually we decided that after 6 summers of family trips, it was time for Mom and Dad to have a trip of their own. We have been told we can't go to WDW but we can go to Moncton. Moncton is my home town which is about 2 hours from here.

Thanks for the tip. We'll have to keep that in mind.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: This picture is so funny!

I can't believe you haven't been on an upside down roller coaster! We are roller coaster people in this house. If you liked it, you should consider a trip to Cedar Point in Ohio.

We aren't going to MGM this trip, but I really enjoyed the pics. Can't wait to see the rest.

It has taken me a while to introduce the idea of roller coasters. Now he's becoming a junkie and so is DS!:lmao:

Wow, I'm finally caught up! I have to say that I'm loving the whole TR. It's great. I loved seeing the Cows shirt on here-I'll have to go pick up my own like that! pirate:

I'm patiently waiting now for the next installment. popcorn::

Glad to have another Maritmer along with us. Cows has some pretty cool t-shirts.

Just finishing up my first morning back to work after 4 weeks vacation and I have one question - Pooksma, when can we go back to WDW?

I thought we'd already decided that???? Just no one tell DS! Next trip is Mom and Dad only;)

So I should have said, "Can we retire and move to Orlando next month?" :)

Do you guys know where you're going to stay for your mom and dad only trip next year? Are you going back to Poly? Is there any way the grandparents could fly down with Declan at the end of your trip and then you could all be together for a few days? Maybe even do AKL as a total surprise for a couple of nights like you had wanted to this year? If you go to Disney World without him, he may punish you in many ways when you get back home! :scared:

We are planning on staying at POFQ.

Your suggestion is interesting. We may need to look in to that.

DH and I went, parent only, to WDW last summer. We take our kids to Grandma's house about an hour and a half away from Orlando and drop them off! As long as we bring back some Disney souvenirs and Grandma spoils them they don't really complain too much! :rotfl2:

This year when we got back, it was so sad! We booked our trip for next April (parents only again) within a week of coming home this year! We decided that every other year we'll have a family trip :grouphug: and every other year it'll be parents only!! :cool2:

I am open to other suggestions for a vacation destination. Its just that it is now time for Mom and Dad to have a solo trip. Its been 11 years since we went anywhere more than a 6 hr drive alone.

Studios August 17th continued...

After leaving Pizza Planet we headed to see some of DS' favs, such as

followed by the Yellow Ranger. After that, we got in line for the Backlot Tour where I convinced the CM to pick DH to be a part of the crew. She was looking for volunteers and I said we didn't mind if she picked him. I don't want to be the one to tell this part since it was a special moment for DH. I will leave it to him but here's a sneak peak:

Sorry this is a short one but I forgot where we were in the report and don't want to steal the thunder from DH.
