Either by someone with lots of time, or someone who doesn't spend all their time on the Disboards like me.

My foot didn't change directions. Oh, oh maybe I only have half a brain:p

I can also do it without any problem.

Damo -- have you ever taken dance, or are you good at dancing?

If I'm not mistaken, most people's motor functions are performed by the left side of the brain. That may be why it is so hard to keep your foot moving clockwise.

There is an excellent book called 'Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain' by Betty Edwards.
'A course in enhancing creativity and artistic confidence'.

This is a great book for understanding how the different sides of your brain work. I highly recommend it to everyone, not just artists or aspiring artists.

I've never taken it but I don't think I'm uncoordinated. I'm a mathematics major, would that demonstrate how I think?

Don't know -- I've been trying to see if there was any connection between those who can and can't do this feat. My two best friends and DH can't do it. None of them have had dance. Two of them aren't that great at math, but the third is. I'm the only one of us who has had dance.

Just wondering if, since in many dances you have to be coordinated with your feet doing one thing and your hands doing another, maybe that has some "training" on being able to do this trick.

I finally managed to do it but it wasn't wasn't easy. I had to concentrate on my foot and move my hand slowly. Probably doesn't count. ;)

If it helps, I'm highly analytical/mathmatical without an artistic or musical bone in my body.
