This is confusing....

I have been a member of Disboards for just a month. I'm taking my 5year old grandson in Feb and staying at the POP.

In a way I find these boards confusing and unsure where to look for things. For example; I remember reading about a fridge swap, however I couldn't get in on the swap because I was a new member and needed to post 10 times before I could email that person. I posted on their thread a couple weeks back but they overlooked my posting. I realized yesterday that the fridge was then gone so I started just doing random posts to get me up to 10. I searched and found one other thread that had a swap and I was to late by only a couple days on taking part on that swap. I should have just posted randomly weeks ago but I didn't really have anything to say, or questions to ask for my upcoming trip. You guys pretty much cover everything!

Now I am having trouble finding the fridge swap sections to see if there are others in hopes that my week might be available. I know of two and both I am to late now to take part. Anyone know how to navigate this easier? or what thread the fridge swap list (if its accurate) is in? It just seems that they are not in one area and are all over the place to me.

I am arriving at Pop on 2/4 and leaving 2/10..

A very big help when looking for previous threads is the search function. You can find it near the top of just about every page. You can search for threads or posts in any or all of the forums. It may take a little time to find what you're looking for, but it will usually save time in the long run.

When you find a thread that you may want to go back to add it to your subscribtions. You can do this with any thread that is not closed.

When I went to the budget area.. that is the area I was looking for. The problem with the swap is that there are 17 (POP) listed and only about 2 or 3 that are active. It took me a while to go through each one and some were closed a year/two years ago.

I sent off an email to the admins in hopes they remove the closed threads to make it easier for the new folks (like me) or anyone for that matter to jump in on a swap. I'm not sure if my email will help them clean it up, but at least I tried.

The info here is helpful and I find everyone gives good tips!! I thank you...
