I’ve an unusual question for these boards but I always think I could find the price of tea in China if I post a question here.

My wife, DD, SIL, and their two daughters are staying as our guests in a two bedroom lock off 4/4 - 4/9/20. My SIL’s parents have decided they’d like to come too.

However I’m tapped out on points borrowing and they’d need to pay their own way to accompany us.

I see Two options I think:

- get a regular room at WL. It will have us pretty close and we can all use the pool and facilities.

- rent points from an agency

My SIL tells me that he inquired re prices for a hotel room. They were 500 a night. That sounded high to me. I went online and couldn’t find pricing past early March. I called and the agent said she couldn’t offer a price that far out either. So I haven’t verified the 500 number.

The other choice is to rent. I don’t know what nights in a studio in Holy Week in either BRV or CC couldn’t possibly be 500 a night could it?

Am I missing something?

TIA

Current rack rates for a studio for mid July 2019 are about 440-465, so I could see $500/night for a peak week for rack rate. There is always the chance of a discount coming out which would lower that.

I would not pay to transfer points into my DVC account, nor would I rent points for someone else who may not understand the nuances that are involved with booking DVC.

I would either point your SIL toward a rental agency (like David's) or tell her that her parents can book a hotel room in the same resort when the 2020 rates become available. I would not doubt the $500/night rate during Easter Week. That week, and the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day are the most expensive times to visit Disney. The rack rate for a std. view room at WL during Easter 2019 was $620/night with tax.
