AP:" FDA approves microchip to be inserted under the skin to carry your medical records". whats next your checking account, your wherabouts? isnt there some prophesy implications here? anyone out there know more about what the bible says on this, a co worker says this is one of the things that happen near the comeing of the anti christ.

Well, I wouldn't go that far. I can see how it is a scary thought. However, I can also see its benefits. My DDad is on coumadin and while he does wear a medic alert bracelet, who's to say it wouldn't fall off in a trauma. If he had the id chip, the paramedics could scan him and instantly know how to treat him, whether he was awake or not. As long as it is not mandatory, I am ok with the idea.

It sounds scary but when my FIL got ill last year and I was the one to take him to the emergency room it would have been helpful. He had multiple severe conditions and a lengthy health history. I'm not sure that a microchip is the answer but it could be helpful for some patients to have a combined history instead of separate records at each Dr / Specialist.

Huh??? Can you get a specific reference?

Many people interpret the book of Revelation (which is the book I refer to when it comes to the second coming of Christ), to mean what anyone wants it to mean. I would imagine someone has found something in the Bible that could be interpreted to say what you're speaking of. However, it would be just that, because John certainly didn't use words like micro chip and talk about things inserted under the skin.

One thing Jesus said was that no one would know when He would come again. It would be basically a surprise. So those who try to read the future would be basically guessing.

ETA: I think this micro-chip for medical purposes can be a wonderful thing, especially in an emergency situation.

My dh likes to teach bible studies out of the book of revelation but he freely admits that he doesn't fully understand all of it and often he'll pause during the bible study and say "This part I'm getting ready to talk about is the book of revelation according to David..." letting everyone know that what he's getting ready to say is just his opinion, not something he can prove or would want others to take without question. I can see where some would think that this chip is the mark of the beast (which is what I assume your co-worker was referring to) but I'm not sure that the mark is actually a physical thing at all. I really don't know.

But I don't think this chip is a good idea, I don't like the idea of someone being able to scan me and get personal information.

The mark of the beast is the reference that microchipping reminds people of. I don't remember the quote exactly, but I will dare to paraphrase that the mark will be on the hand or forehead. And near the end of times, the mark will be needed to buy, sell or trade. One cannot accept the mark accidentally because it is an oath of loyalty to the antichrist and must be entered into knowingly and wilingly. Having said that however, I will forego the chip.

you must have seen the same movies I did when I was a teenager in church! I remeber a whole series on the end time in the 80's that had one scene where someone was in the store and just passed their arm under a scanner and bought everything.


Does anyone else remember the hullabalu about the holograms on credit cards when they first came out. Same idea I guess, that was part of the end times as well.

I dont pretend to be an expert on Revelation, the book has always scared the beejeebers out of me but I KNOW that it says " no one will know when I will return"

anyway, I think this would actually be a life saver in many cases.

Ya know, I can see why you thin it's scarey, but I also am thinking it's a good idea! For example, you're in a car accident, and brought into the ER unconsious. Noone knows what you may be allergic too, what your history is, etc.. This would not only allow the doctors to ID you right away, but at the same time, potentially better treat you. Also, I know that with the elderly, it's hard for them to remember a lot of things, and especially their medical health. Certainly could be a benefit for them.

my co worker says that the anti christ will be very charasmatic and people will enter into the agreement to have the "mark" because of his rhetoric being so convincing and in that way his minions can control whole populations. i dont think it could ever be done by decree, people would not stand for it but it could have more purpose than is disclosed and fool people in that way. by the way, i dont buy this at any level i just like to put ideas and thoughts out there for discussion. some nite we can talk about Nostradamus. LOL

I agree with your co worker. Initially people will take the mark because they are "charmed" but ultimately it will be by decree and those that refuse will be beheaded.
