So, here is my dilemma!

We will be in WDW for 13 days. We will be flying. We will pack mostly everything in carry ons and we will most likely only check one bag, maybe two.

I plan to need to do laundry at least once, maybe some stuff twice.

My problem is this....aside from the underclothes and PJs, I don't put any of our clothing in the dryer. I hang everything at home on a clothing rack/hangers which I don't want to/cannot take with me. How could I possibly come up with a way to hang things for drying in the room?

I'm lost!

Be flexible and let the dryer be your vacation buddy.

Pack yourself some twine and clothespins and string up a drying line in the room. (J/k, use the dryer, save your sanity)

I think most, if not all, of the rooms I've stayed in had one of those retractable clothes lines that goes across the tub. Stuff takes FOREVER to dry in there though.

Order one from Amazon and have it shipped to your hotel. If you are renting a car, drive to the nearest Walmart and buy one there. Resign yourself to the fact that you will leave it behind when you return home unless you find a cheap way to ship it home.

I hang up clothes to dry at home too but at Disney I use the dryer. It is the easiest way and I haven't had any issues. I guess you could hang a few things in hangers in the closet area to dry but I just use the clothes dryer.

They've got those accordian-style folding clothes racks on Amazon (with Prime available) for like $25. I did this last summer when we vacationed for an extended time because, like you, I user the dryer for basically nothing...just socks and undies. Yes, it'll take a while to dry on the rack but still worth it IMO.

I always pack enough for that amount of time, but I do check more than 1 bag.
If that's not an option-
Order a dryer rack and have it shipped to the hotel. I have a lot of items that I won't place in the dryer- and wouldn't put them in while on vacation, not worth ruining.

With 6 people's laundry, even if you had a suitcase full of hangers, you'd never be able to hang them all up in a resort room. And Florida's humidity really slows the drying process. I've never been able to get a bathing suit completely dry, let alone a whole family's T shirts and shorts. Bring clothes that can be tumble dried, and use the on site driers.

I'm glad a few people chimed in about the humidity...it takes forever for things to dry, sometimes bathing suits never get fully dry, so imagine a full load of laundry. I'm echoing those who say to bring things you'd be willing to dry, just to make things easier on yourself. Laundry is not something I want to worry about on vacation.

Good luck deciding, but more importantly, have a fun trip!

Have to agree about the humidity. Since it is just DH & I we don't do laundry but do hangup our bathing suits to dry. They stay damp longer than when we are on vacation in CA, Vegas or even the Jersey shore.

I also hang dry everything and I can't just use the drier. I am tall and have a struggle finding long enough shirts to begin with, I can't be shrinking them. That being said, last time I was having trouble with the hang ups drying with the humidity and AC. So i used the drier on no heat mode. Think of it like a strong wind if they were hanging outside. They took a bit longer than ones we used heat for (pjs and undies), but nothing shrunk and we were happy with that.

I agree with pack things you can put in the dryer. At home I hang dry most things, but on vacation I use dryer on low. And only hang a few things on the retractable line in bathtub. Or bring more luggage so you don't have to worry about it. We go for 14 days, each of us has a carry on and a mid size checked luggage. We do laundry once mid trip in Wdw. I'm on Va-cay-shun! And prefer to make things easy and bring the luggage I need. Especially when we go in August. So hot & humid, we go thru 2 changes a day. Clothes get sweaty.

I don't fully dry a lot of our clothes DH is TALL and finding clothing that fits is expensive, so I try to damp dry hi shirts and sweat shirts and then hang them to finish. In DIsney, if I was inclined to do laundry, which I am not.... I woudl use the dryer and only take things that can tumble dry. IF you have a few things that you need to hang, start them in the dryer and then hang them on hangers on that little line in the shower.

If you try to dry a load or two of clothes in your room you will return to a sauna.

I bet if I checked two bags which would cost me an extra 50, we could get everything in and not have to even do laundry. We certainly have enough stuff lying around that we could put together enough outfits. I'd rather not do laundry at all while there honestly. But you make good points and I do remember that sllooow drying time!

So if I am gonna have to mess with all that and buy stuff and leave it with my nephew who lives there when I leave, I might as well just pack the clothes I need. Then I don't need a dryer or a way to hang the clothes all around.

Thanks for all the helpful advice!!

That is what I woudl do. Just pay it and take the issue right out of the conversation. Have fun going laundry free!!!

It's $50 well spent to not have to deal with it!

Have a wonderful vacation!!

I use to pack lightly and did some clothes drying in the shower area using the line you can draw across the length of the tub. Even "quick drying" items took a lot of time, wash it at night still damp to very damp the next morning. Remove it to shower in the morning, and when everyone got their shower in rehang items to finish drying the remainder of the day. So I now pack enough to put on clean each day or when we do do laundry while on vacation we use the dryer.
