This half time has to

I’m glad you can look at it fairly and judge musicians based on individual talent instead of automatically writing them off because of who they are or what you think they represent. I look forward to hearing your open-minded critique of next year’s halftime show featuring Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion.
Those two I don't care for at all. I just won't watch and not claim they are untalented.

I loved it! Gen-X represents and yes, this is a hill I will die on, millennials 😉

Prince still is the best one, but this was definitely up there.
Pfft I'm a Millennial and this stuff was my jam, this is the stuff I was listening to in my schooling days :rotfl2:oh so many fond memories of Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop, etc.

California Love was actually a song my mom and I would dance to before she went off to the club :lmao:

I liked it, it was a lot different than "here's a stage now go sing on it, do some dance moves, etc" so I thought that was unique.

I knew as soon as the line up was listed there would be a lot of "what is that stuff, that's not music, where's the good people, etc" Reminded me of watching the halftime with The Weeknd with my in-laws who were like

IDK people have to realize there's a nostalgic factor to a lot of the artists that play. Sometimes it's country, sometimes it's rock bands, sometimes it's more latin-style music, other times more rap or hip hop. But it doesn't make it bad just because you don't like the music (the choreography, the stage or lack there of, the dancing, the sound quality, etc all of that may play into the half time not being enjoyable to watch). But just wait a few years they'll get back to your music ::yes::

Shhh, I was just joking. But don’t tell James that. :poop:

Ugh, your mom sounds cool. My mom only ever sang Neil Diamond before going to K-Mart.

Yeah Friday and Saturday nights she'd often go out and in the hours ahead of that she'd be getting ready blasting music and trying on outfits and asking my opinion, etc lot of nights dancing away with her. Be My Lover and Sweet Dreams by La Bouche was another favorite she'd put on and we'd dance to.

I’m gen y and it wasn’t my thing. I just like cleaner songs. Apple Bottom Jeans would have been a better song choice than some of the rap.
Apple bottom jeans isn't a clean song..booty smackin', exposin', sexual comments...yeah..then there's a stripper reference..

You might want to go relook at the lyrics

I didn't know Dre could play the piano, but I am not surprised. He is very talented.

Yeah, that surprised me too. As I said before, it's not really my kind of music, but I can recognize the talent and quality here. Not ALL music is like that - some of it is junk, though it's also absolutley okay to enjoy junk too. I know I like some stuff that isn't exactly full of musical merit, but there's nothing wrong with that.

Please don’t mistake the mob mentality that commonly happens on the Dis when someone voices an opinion contrary to what the Queen Bees view as correct, as an actual majority opinion.

No clue what any of that means.

I’m just curious on who you would want for next year’s Super Bowl halftime show? Dan gave his choices, what’s yours?

I said it was cleaner than some of the songs chosen for the super bowl. I’m not a prude, I just don’t like cursing or the n word (or any racial slur) in songs. :confused3
