This Guy Swam in the Lake!

They're totally nuts. I remember going to Discovery Island as a child and, although it was cool to see again, they risked quite a bit. The whole preserved snake in a Coke bottle was startling though.

Read through this guys blog....he's a little nutty. WOW some of this stuff is pretty scary.

Cool blog, and pics! Creepy too, the way the pics look....kind of reminds me of one of the Jurassic Park movies - I think 3, where they hit the old abandoned Ingen facility on the "other" island! :scared1:

Wow, I can't believe how crazy some people are. It is interesting to see what was left behind though. I can't believe they didn't at least empty the buildings. Isn't Disney always saying how proud they are to be environmentally friendly.

So.........I'm reading the blog and looking at the pictures and thinking THIS IS NUTS!!!!! Snakes, amoeba, gators.......stuff that can kill and eat you.......bad idea. Call me crazy.......:confused3

Whoa! I agree with Joshua_me... that is totally LOST island! Creepy, weird and erie!!!! The run down cages and snakes in the bottles topped off the creepy LOST type factor.

But yes those guys are crazy/stupid. I'll admit I didn't know about the amoebas before listening to the podcast...but I did know about alligators! Yikes! They got very lucky. Very interesting though.

Man, I can't see the pictures!

Glad they weren't hurt, I sure would hate to see Disney get in trouble for people trying to swim to an island like that.

There are also poisenious snakes. Remember when Walter & the guys went fishing from a boat. They posted a video of the guide telling them they'd move from a certain area because she saw a snake that would "rock your world".....

That would be a Water Moccasin. And yeah you don't want to tangle with one of those.:scared1::scared1:

You wouldn't catch me in the lake for all the tea in China.

Wow. What a couple of idiots.

At least the fellow admits he didn't think about the alligators or know about the Amoeba. And he's telling others not to do it.
Thank goodness.

OMG, what an adventure!!! Crazy, yes, but amazing anyhow.

Pete telling me not to do it is good enough for me... Sounds like this guy should be listening to a certain podcast?

That was exactly what I thought when I first opened it.

For those of you who investigate the blog further....you might want to do it when there are not kids in the room...few nude photos there just an FYI .

I didn't even notice that until you said so. It seems this guys M.O. is sneak into an abandoned building, train station, park, air strip, etc and take nude photos. I could just imagine if the Disney Security found them out on Discovery Island with a nude model!

And I thought I was adventurous! Snakes in Coke bottles and jars...very creepy! I got the eebie jeebies just looking at the pics.

A few years ago on a fireworks cruise our boat broke down and while waiting for the rescue boat to come we were drifting very close to Discovery Island. I was totally freaked out. It was very dark and there were lots of noises from the birds and you couldn't pay me to be on that island at night, nevermind swimming across in brain sucking critter infected water. This guy must be nuts! Drifting in the dark on a broken boat was close enough for me!

This reminds me of all those River Country pictures that came out.

My question is how can Disney just abandon areas like that? The River Country pictures had trash, pictures on the walls, employee of the month awards on the ground, etc.

Kinda OT, but...

This also reminds me of the Legendary Years at POP. It's such a creepy looking area at night.

So how long has Coke been using that shape of Coke bottle? I don't think it has been that long. Does that mean someone is out there recently putting snakes in bottles? Please tell me I am wrong....
