This freezing weather is crampin my style! A Dec 2010 TR

Love the Mickey gloves. Sorry you didn't enjoy your limo ride but glad you enjoyed Fantasmic.

:goodvibes God is my wall too.

I'm so glad you were able to get through the evening doing most of what you wanted to do. :thumbsup2

I'm the same way about the take off on RnR, I hit a high pitched squeal that lasts until we take off once were at the red light, I do the same thing when were on ToT. Right before they open the door I know were about to have it happen because I feel the Fl. heat and smell the outside, I let out a high pitched..."We're here, oh crAAaaaaaa

I bet your tummy was upset because you ate and then rode the coster to soon after, at least that's what it sounds like to me. Don't give up on your RnR just yet. :goodvibes

When were able to do a trip together I think we'll have fun seeing if we can out belch the other. I can belch with the big boys too and I ALWAYS end it with a tiny little lady like excuse me, my husband never laughs though :sad2: but I was sure someday someone would get my humor!! You do!!!

I designed butt blankets that roll up really small and are insulated for that show and curb sitting for parades. They are mickey of course and about 1 1/2 feet square just big enough for a dry warm bum, they work great they are even water proof. The have made it so I can enjoy my faverite shows without freezing my bum off. Isn't that a wonderful show I'm not sure we are gonna get to see it this time, we will have to see.

I think I remember you talking about butt blankets on a PTR of mine or maybe it was yours a year or so ago, it was a genius idea, still is. I am flying home to Mi, on the first and I think I will talk to my mom about making some butt blankets for our trip.

I sure hope you get to see Fantasmic this time, it is so awesome.

Love the Mickey gloves. Sorry you didn't enjoy your limo ride but glad you enjoyed Fantasmic.

Thank you. I think I will make the Mickey gloves again, they get dirty real fast so maybe I will make a couple pair.

:goodvibes God is my wall too. Oh Camille, you don't even know the way I feel now...actually I bet you do know.

Untiul I actually spew on RnR I will never give it up. I just won't eat greasy fried fish right before I ride ever again.

out belch eachother? oh it is on! like Donkey Kong.:lmao:

We got into our room after checking our message board, we hadn't gotten any new shout outs.
mydis072.jpg

Our room was a little warmer than it was outside. Lo kept it pretty frosty inside. While she was calling home and updating her facebook, I went and took a steamy bubble bath. I tried calling Kent and we talked for a few minutes but my phone kept losing service in the bathroom so I said I would call him back after my bath.

So once I was all cleaned and dressed in my jammies I got my mug and went down to the Pop Cafe for some hot chocolate and hopefully be able to have a conversation with him where I didn't have to constantly call him back. But once I got my hot chocolate and called him back our answering machine picked up, I tried a few more times and then gave up.

I had said on this trip I was going to quit smoking, and I had every intentionof doing so, I only brought a couple ciggerettes with me but I found myself caving in. I asked at the Everything Pop store if there was a plcae nearby that I could buy a pack and the guy said they sold them there they just keep them hidden, I was like ok, how much for a pack, I was thinking they were going to cost a little more than noraml, it's Disney World after all. but when he told me the price:scared1: I was like wow, if that doesn't make somebody give up smoking I don't know what will. But to let you know how desperate I was I paid the 10.60 for a pack of smokes. then went outside in the freezing cold to have one. Pathetic, I know!

I went back to the room. Lo was in bed watching T.V. so we chatted for a bit before hitting the hay. Our next day was going to be big.

December 5th. Happy Birthday Lo!!

The alarm went off and Lo and I had no problems waking this fine morning. I started out by singing Happy Birthday to her and then giving her the card I had brought from home, it was a DIsney card of course and I had gotten her a Disney gift card as well.

We quickly showered and dressed. Lo took some extra time on her hair and even ironed her new shirt. She put on her tiara that she had purchased our very first day in MK and then the birthday princess and I walked out the door on schedule.

It was Sunday and the line for the MK bus was typical, corwded but not crazy. She was wearing her brithday button and right away people were wishing her a happy birthday, not just CM's either, but guests too.

The bus filled up fast and was going to be standing room only, Lo wanted to wait for the next bus so we could sit. It was her birthday, so that is what we did. The ride there was uneventful but Lo was super excited to be spending her brithday at MK. Who wouldn't be?

She was wished a happy brithday by the bag check people, and wished a happy birthday by the people who overlook the finger scans, it was a great morning for her.

She wasn't quite sure what she wanted to do first, I think she was feeling overwhelmed at the day ahead of her. So I suggested we go into the main street bakery for some breakfast. I had never done that but had always wanted to. She wanted to know what was special about it and I told her. "It's breakfast! on Main street, in Magic Kingdom, that's what special about it."

I knew what she meant really, like does something go on in there to amke it magical, but truth is I was hungry and had read on the Dis forever about breakfast in there, it was something new.

The clouds were gray and looked like rain but the app on her phone said sunshine and 60 degrees, so we were just hoping the clouds were a fluke and would pass while we were eating breakfast.

She got a big old cinabun, the thing was as big as her head, I got a cherry cheese danish and we both got a chocolate milk. We also had no trouble finding a table, but I tell ya fifteen minutes later and we would have been standing.

Lo's husband called to wish her a happy birthday, and pretty much everybody else in the world called her too, her phone was blowing up with calls, and her facebook was covered in well wishes too. She is a loved lady.

It started sprinkling while we were in the bakery. "Give it a minute, I told Lo , it will pass. She was so upset that it was raining on her birthday.

We finished eating and even took a minute to let our food settle before heading outside. It was pouring.

"what are we going to do now?" Lo was so upset

"We are going to go get us a totally cool Disney poncho and enjoy the rest of our day."

So we raced across the street into the store and we each got ponchos, I had my glove laying on the counter while I got my wallet out of my bag, the guy tried to ring up my gloves, he thought they were sold there but quickly realized they were our own creation and then complemented me on them.

We put on our ponchos, they were stiff and smelled like paint, but they were going to keep us dry. Lo was disapointed that she had to cover up her cute hair do and tiara, but I reminded her that for the most part we would be inside on rides.

Her first choice ride of the day was Space Mountain and that's the direction we headed in. As we were walking a lady was trying to yell to her friend, but she had no voice, so Lo and I helped her out. JUDY...JUDY.... that got her attention and her friend waved to her and turned in that direction.

Lo and I happy with ourselves for saving the day and connecting the lady with her friend Judy continued on to SM. WE grabbed a fast pass for later and then got in the standby line, posted time....5 minutes.

Inside I took off my poncho, rolled it up and stuck it in my bag. There wasn't any time to stop and play the newly added games they have in the line, we just kept marching up to the CM who told us where to stand. and within minutes we were settled into our space train.

I like SM, but it gets to be too long and I am ready for it to be over, with each turn I think ok, this is it were done, but no we keep going. Eventually I get bored and I stop screaming and just sit back and wait for it to end. Sorry, but it's the truth.

When it was over we checked out our ride picture. I don't know what it is about this ride, but everytime I get my picture on it it looks like I have no neck, I even try and sit tall for the picture and smile pretty, I don't like the camera angle on this ride so I never buy it.

We went into the dump shop and what did I see? Massage chairs. Really? Is this new? I had to take advantage of that.
mydis032.jpg

Ssshhh! Not while I'm getting a massage. It was a nice massage but later my shoulder blade muscle was sore.
Lo got a massage too, the ride had left her neck a little tweaked. We decided to give our fast passes away and not do that ride again. It was a little too rough for Lo. She said only because she couldn't see where the next turn was so she wasn't able to prepare her body for it.

After relaxing a minute, actually 3 minutes for 1 dollar. hahaha we shopped for a few then went outside. and guess what? the rain had stoped and the sun was trying to shine. Lo wanted to go to carousel of progress. I had never done that before but had always wanted to. So we went. We were the first in line for the next go around which took about 15 minutes. There were maybe 5 people including Lo and I that went in there. Lo and I sat in the very front.

The show started and I loved it from the first minute and put it on my mental list to do this when I took my next trip with my mom and Bo. It was cute and sort of funny in an outdated way.

We left it singing there's a great big beautiful tomorrow, we made ourselves sick of that song. I had called my mom not too long after and told her I couldn't get that song out of my head and mom said "Well let me help you dear...FLINSTONES, MEET THE FLINSTONES...."

so then I had the flinstones song stuck in my head...thanks mom.

We went into a shop for a look around. I found a car kit that I wanted. It had all the character window decals and a liscencplate border, air freshener and key chain all in a reusable plastic pouch. I put that on my list of things that I knew I was going to buy on my designated shopping day.

While we were shopping around a CM wished Lo a happy birthday and then a few seconds later she called Lo over to the counter. "You have a phone call."

Lo looked extremely confused.

"He's been calling for you all day and I told him I would watch for you to come in."

Lo picke dup the phone and said hello, then she got a big smile on her face. "It's Goofy." (the Disney character I mean, not her smile)

mydis033.jpg

She was so happy that Goofy had remembered her birthday. She said her brithday just kept getting better.

I am not a fan of Stitch, but this guy was just so cuddly.
mydis034.jpg

SO as we are leaving we stop and look at the super imposed photos. The CM Bobby...dun dun daaaaa. Asked us if we would like to try it. "It doesn't cost anything to try dun dun daaaa!"

SO I said why not, I would love my picture with Capt Jack Sparrow.

"Good choice, da dun."

So I got lined up and Bobby kept saying things like, left left, now up, a little more, hold it, hold it and then Dun dun daaaa!"

The picture was done. "what do you think da dun?"

I loved it, I wanted it, I needed it. "I'll take it."
mydis-1.jpg

This is framed and hanging in my bedroom, for some reason Kent's socks or his shirt or something always ends up covering it:confused3 and don't ask me how the lip prints got on the glass, I have no idea, it's not like I kiss it goodnight every evening:rolleyes1

Lo really liked how mine turned out so she wanted to get one. Bobby was all for that dun dun da!

After it was all done he told us that they were running a special, buy the 8x10 and get 9 wallets free. Dun dun da. Sold. I could add those to my christmas cards I thought.

We checked out all the while Bobby kept up his singing, dun dun da! He was awesome and just added to the fun of the day.

Your DHS night turned out so wonderful - it's great when you can be flexible and just take what comes.:cool1:

What a cool start to Lo's Bday! I hope it continues for her!!!
Look at you - Sexy Mama! I want a picture like that!

Sounds like Lo was having herself a great day. :goodvibes

Can't wait to hear more.

Oh, did you make your wreath for your resort door? Super cute!!

I was content at the end of our DHS night, I don't take change too well but the plan with the QSDP only was so that we could make changes if need be and it worked out great.

I love my picture with Capt Jack, I have a tiny waist and my double chin is gone. I gave those to my friends at work in their Christmas cards.

Oh, did you make your wreath for your resort door? Super cute!!

Lo was having a superb day. I have mentioned before that she loves attention and on this day she was getting tons of it. She had a perma smile all day.

I did make the wreat for our door, thank you, I thought it was cute too.

We took our pictures with us, we figured we were going back to the resort after lunch so we didn't mind carrying them with us.

It was really starting to get nice out. I even took my jacket off a few times but always ended up putting it on within 10 minutes. I don't know if it was my temp fluctuating or if it was Disney temp flunctuating but either way I was always more comfortable wearing the jacket than I wasn't. It was kind of windy that day, so I'm sure that had alot to do with it too.
Lo thought the weather was perfect then and went all day without a jacket, plus she was loving her new shirt and wanted to show it off.

mydis035.jpg

I love this part of the park, it's so story book looking.
We went over to ride Winnie the Pooh and the line was long so we decided to get fast passes for that, it would have been nice if the fast pass machine were anywhere near the ride. It's over by Philharmagic. We got our fast pass for winnie and it also gave us one for Philharmagic too. Lo thought it was because of her birthday, so I told it definitely was because of her birthday and I had set it up that way.

Philharmagic had no wait, they were letting in for a show at that moment, so we didn't really need the FP for it.

As we are going into the theater the CM is anouncing over and over and quite loudly too. "Find a row and proceed to the end, please keep going all the way down to the end, please do not stop in the middle, keep going all the way to the end."

That sounds clear to me, my understanding of that is to keep going until the seats are filled right. Did you get the same thing from that?

Well the people infront of us didn't. They stopped halfway, Lo told them they needed to keep on moving. They just stared at her blank faced so she said "How rude." and climbed over them, I know she purposely turned around so her fanny would be in their face and she might have even bent forward a bit as she s l o w l y made her way over them.

For me it's an extra pain in the knee to have to side step their legs. And then my foot caught on the womans purse strap that was sitting on the floor and I dragged it a few feet before I realized what was going on. She tried pulling it while my leg was still caught in it. "Please let me untangle myself before you pull my legs out from under me." I was laughing when I said this cause it was kind of funny. But the lady was mad that her purse got dragged.

"Maybe if you had paid attention to the rules, or even just held your purse on your lap until everybody else climbed over and around you, this might not have happened.":confused3

Lo added, "So rude." to that again. Over the years I have come to expect this, I don't think I have ever gone into a show where the people actually go all the way to the end of the row. It no longer irks me so much, just accept it and go with the flow. but this is Lo's biggest Disney pet peeve. and as the trip went on it bothered her more and more and she started telling people as she crossed over them, "Do you have a special ticket that allows you to ignore the rules, where can I get one?" or "You must be royalty to be able to ignore the rules and sit where ever you want, nice to meet you, oops was that your toe? sorry."

When somebodys rule breaking inconveniences Lo, that's just not cool. she is a stickler for rules and would never intentionally break one or put somebody else out for her own personal gain. She's a good girl. Although she did facebook on haunted mansion and in my opinion that is exterior lighting and a rule breaker. just sayin.

But back to Philharmagic. Hands down the best 3-D show in all four worlds. I love the music, I love the storyline, I love the smell of apple pie, and the wind in my face. I didn't like when the champagne bottle popped and a spirt of water shot me right in the forhead. that wasn't so cool, it messed up my bangs. But anyway this is an awesome show. Lo and her family had missed this on their trip. She kept saying, "Joey would love this, I can't wait for him to see it."

We left the show happy and loving life. That show can cheer up anybody, it's a good antidepressant and Disney should try and bottle that.

We saw Peter Pan out for a meet n greet, poor guy, nobody was in his line, so I decided to get my picture with him. I didn't have one with him yet so it was kind of a must anyway. He made me pose like him. I didn't want to do the 'peter Pan stance' it's not very becoming for me, maybe for a little guy in green tights it works, but I just looked ridiculous. I also felt like a giant next to him. creepy.
mydis042.jpg

After meeting Peter we headed over to It's a small world. Lo loves this ride, probably because she loves dolls. I always skip this one, but it was her birthday so I did what she wanted. I didn't even complain either, I acted like It's a small world was the best idea she had come up with yet. And in line I never once let on that I couldn't wait for this to be over. And once we were on our boat I told myself I would do a great job pretending to be interested.
As we got further into the ride I really was starting to enjoy it. I was watching it from Lo's perspective as a doll lover, I was looking at their faces and their outfits. It's not really too bad of a ride and I think I will make it on that ride at least once every trip from now on.

After it's a small world we hit up Snow whites scary adventure. This ride is over way too fast, it's not my favorite ride, but I do love Snow Whites story. If the wait had been any longer than 10 minutes we probably would have skipped it.

We then went back towards Winnie the Pooh, our FP time was coming up. We stopped to go on the Peter Pan ride. This one is my favorite out of all the story book rides. I like flying in the pirate ship and feeling like I'm way up in the sky. the little city below and the moving cars are so cool. Peter Pan was my favorite story to have read to me as a child, I already told Bo that I call dibs on riding this one with Mom on our trip.
I missed my mom at that moment, I rode this with her on our trip in 09. Most of the rides I rode with my friend Marzi, but Peter Pan... I just knew I wanted to ride that one with my Mom.

Finally it was time to bounce around in our honey pots. This is a cute one, I love Winnie and Tigger. Even though we still had FP's we still had to wait a while. this was slow loading, more so than usual. And I discovered that if you use a fast past, you don't get to play with the cool stuff in the stand by line. bummer.

I was so hungry by this time and I couldn't wait for our ADR at CRT. I was ready for something other than burgers and fries. So when the ride was over we headed to CRT. We checked in and were told that it would be about 10 minutes before we were called. there was another family infront of us, I was hoping that because we checked in so early we would possibley get a good table, like next to a window or something.

Lo was growing more and more excited. "I can't believe I am going to meet the princesses." Then she started to cry. I mean tears were dripping down her face. It got me teary eyed that she was so excited for this. She was like a little girl.

"Don't cry, you'll ruin your make up."

She had to keep fanning herself and taking deep breaths. Her husband Ed called and she was telling him that she was about to meet the princesses and eat in the castle. then she started crying again, "this is the best brithday I have ever had." She said she wanted to hang up because she wanted to make sure she heard our names being called. funny girl. She got a text message a few minutes later from Ed. "You deserve this wonderful day."

I was happy for her and sad for me. I remembered when Kent loved me like that. The my phone rang and what do ya know, it was Kent. Just as I picked up the phone to say hello, they called us. "Kent I have to call you back, they just called us in for our ADR, give me an hour k?"

I could hear his frustration in his voice. "Whatever." he said and hung up.

We followed the CM into a waiting area where she informed us that Cinderella would be coming out soon. Lo lost it again. "I can't believe I am meeting Cinderella."
She said she felt stupid for getting so emotional over this fairytail lunch and meeting the princesses, she couldn't quite understand it herself. I inderstood though, I was the same way when I saw Goofy for the first time. I even cried. You can't help but get worked up.

When Cinderella came out Lo grabbed onto my arm and was so emtional she could not stop crying, "It's her, it's Cinderella."

"Pull yourself together girl, you don't want puffy eyes for your picture do you?"

She started fanning herself again and taking deep breaths. I didn't know if she would get it together before it was our turn or not.

Lo watched as the family infront of us got their picture taken with Cinderella before being ushered up the stairs.

It was now our turn. Lo turned professional princess greeter in just seconds, you would have never known that a few minutes earlier she was bawling her eyes out.

"Hi Cinderella, I love your gown."

Cinderella courtsied, "Happy Birthday Princess Laura, are you enjoying your day in the Magic Kingdom?"

"I am having the best day of my life."

Cinderella looked at Lo's tiara. "I love your crown, how do you keep it from slipping? I am always having trouble with my crown slipping."

"Hairspray, Lo said, Tons of hairspray."

Cinderella smiled, "Well I will have to share that with my other princess friends...hairspray."

I was completely left out of that conversation, I was most definitely the 3rd wheel for that whole thing.
mydis036.jpg

We posed for our picture and then headed upstairs to the dining room. We passed the restroom, Lo said we had to visit the restroom in the castle, she was sure it would be royal looking.

We walked into the dining room and was greeted by a gentleman who took us to our table....right next to the window. SCORE!:woohoo:

I started feeling like I should have dressed up a bit more for this. The man gave us each a wishing star. (I still have my wish, I'm saving it) and a wand.
mydis037.jpg

I didn't know we would be getting those things, I thought only the kids got thos, I was happy and Lo just couldn't contain how excited she was. She was commenting on the table settings and the decor.

We each ordered a soda and it was brought out along with some hoursdorves, I know I spelled that wrong. But anyway, there was cheese and grapes and bruschetta, and something else, I had no idea what it was. Lo dared me to try it, so I did. It was kind of pickley and really didn't taste too bad, but the texture was blech! I had to wash it down with solda because I could not voluntarily swallow that and shoot I was in a castle so spitting it out in my napkin was a big no no.

Lo updated her facebook while I looked over the menu. I had gone on allears before I left and checked out the menu, I knew what I was going to order but looking at the menu then, it was completely different. Lo is a super picky eater, I believe I had mentioned that before, when she looked at the menu her nose wrinkled up.

It all sounded good to me and I had a hard time deciding, but I eventually figured out what my taste buds wanted and it was the Cobe fish in angel hair pasta with a red wine maranera sauce.
mydis038.jpg

Doesn't this look delectable?

Lo kept looking at the menu, maybe she was hoping pizza would appear?:confused3 She finally talked herself into some beef on bread thing. I didn't pay much attention to it.
mydis039.jpg

When it arrived it was huge. I didn't expect the portions to be so big. I tried a bite of Lo's meal, it was really good, but I was loving the fish. I did eat Lo's vegetables though.

The princesses started making their rounds. Snow White was first, The place hadn't filled up yet so we were seeing the princesses pretty quickly. We did take our picture with each one.

Ariel was next, she had alot to say. First she commented on our great table by the window, she told us that if Scuttles were to see my fish through the window he would probably try and come in.

Belle, was the last to come through. She wasn't wearing her ball gown. Lo asked her why and Belle said that her dress was so big that it might take out a small child in passing. So she keeps it simple for the safety of the children and better manuverability.

Belle was there when the waiter brought over Lo's birthday cupcake and so she sang happy birthday with the rest of us.

mydis040.jpg

I didn't tell Lo that they usually bring out a cupcake and sing happy birthday to you. Her smile could have lit up all the trees in all of Disney World. She kept thanking me for this fabulous birthday she was having. Like I had gone behind the scenes and set everything up for her. I let her think that though:rolleyes1

We ordered dessert which again was a different menu than what they showed on allears. I was looking forward to ordering the buckle cheescake but instead I got this.

mydis041.jpg

It was super yummy, but took 3 bites to finish. I guess Artsy Fartsy desserts are only suppose to be dime sized other wise it can't be considered ritzy or swanky or whatever. I knew I would be following this up with a Dole Whip.

I was supposed to be in Michigan today. But the weather ruined all those plans and I spent the day today trying to figure out how to salvage some of the time I have left. But alas I am subject to black out dates because I was flying on a free voucher, they can't fit me in until next week and I can't take antoehr week of work so they extended my voucher for 3 months and I guess I will try and go to Mi. sometime early spring.

I am so bummed, I was so looking forward to starting the plans for my next Disney trip with my mom and sister. We were going to look at menus and what not. But also I'm bummed that I will be missing Bo's super bowl party, I have never made it to one of her famous super bowl parties and here not only was I gonna be able to go, but my team the "Steelers" is playing. Between my sister and my Dad the food alone is worth going to the party, and now I am stuck here and Kent has to work.

Right now I am having a huge pity party, anybody is welcome to crash it. Please somebody crash it!

Ty...this has been a nightmare of an ordeal! I have been trying to reply to all your funny stuff...speaking of which I am certain it was Jim's lip prints on the glass...and I can not figure this out...i need a disboard for dummies book...and possibly an additional book to help me through that! it's a good thing you make me laugh girl or I wouldn't bother...Love you!

I'll come and crash your pity party!!! :cool1:

Since those stupid Packers beat my Bears, I'm rooting for the Steelers!!!

You'll just have to have another party this spring to celebrate the Steelers Super Bowl victory... :thumbsup2

It's because your a Disboard newbie, you need to explore, push buttons and see where they take you. Listen to your sister! She's not only very pretty but she's super smart too!

And I bet you are right, it has to be Jim's lip prints on my Capt Jack picture. Who else could it be?:confused3

Can't wait for you to start your PTR. I'm serious, you are going to make so many friends here. And if you do the PTR for our trip then I won't have to, I can just tag along on yours and post silly pictures of you.

silly.jpg

I could post sweet pictures too, remember this day?

But mostly I'll post embarrasing pictures, this can be considered payback for when you were yearbook editor and didn't put 1 single picture of me in the year book. :rolleyes1
Welcome to the Dis dear sister.:flower3:

Really? You have way more ammunition?:scared1: Well I have the pictures...you know...the ones we do not speak of...:rolleyes1

You may have a head start since you know you're way around the disboards and what not...but it's just a matter of time...and for the record...you ARE pretty...but I AM the super smart one...YOU are the super funny one. (I'm just keepin' it real)

SOOOoooo, How do I start a Pre trip report? (asks the super smart one of the super funny one)

Aren't they great pictures? I love the one on the tire swing.

The one with us and Lola, that was a great weekend. I can't wait to go to Disney and make more awesome memories with my favorite OLDER sister. (I'm just keepin it real too) ;)

I'll call you Sunday and talk you through starting a pre trip. Prepare yourself though, these boards can get addictive.

Hi Leisa,

It does stink that my one chance to finally go to one of Bo's amazing parties mother nature had to drop the ice on me and the snow on her. I'm sure Bo will more than make up for it when I go out there in the spring, I'll have her recreate the super bowl menu for our Disney planning party. Although knowing Bo, I'm sure all the food she will prepare for our Disney planning party will more than likely be Disney themed, she's such a Martha.

I pity you that you are having a pity party. :sad2: Too bad you are missing out on all the fun, but knowing you, you'll find a way to have fun anyway!
:cheer2:

R u kidding me? even Ty's pity parties are funny...although she doesn't do themed food. probably best that way. Who would realy want a poo-poo platter?
