Took a picture of my 6yo DD - going for the cheesy "I'm wearing the big hat" pose and kind of wigged out when I looked at it at home. She is growing up way way too fast for me.
We are also waiting out the HS (she just got her placement scores back)results.
Then the other night she tells us she has a real crush on one of her teammates on the all boys team she plays soccer with.
I knew it was going to happen soon but man it hit me hard and I didn't let on to it with her as I want her to come to me. I know at 13 the things we were doing 20 some years ago so I'm sorta relieved .
The boy is very nice and respectful and she knows she can only have friends ( not boyfriends) at this time. I hate to say it as they all really like her on the team and they take up for her (not that she needs it ) with all the other all boys teams they play.
GDad I hate to say it but sometimes it worse then looking in the mirror when you look at a great shot like that.
Ours are still pretty little (7 and 4). I look at pictures of them all the time, so I don't notice it too much. We went by the house they were babies in yesterday. That was strange. It brought back a lot of memories.
For a fun project, I put together a slideshow of my four year old's first four years. If you have a PC, you can see it here.
Yes, there are those rare moments when you get a glimpse of the person your child will become! You can see it and you know it is coming and it shakes you as they say to your core! You were lucky enough to capture it forever!
