My two best friends are getting married this October (yes, to each other :D ) and I'm planning to attend their wedding in Chicago. We've known this for several months now and at least I have reserved the date. (Dunno about DH)

DH's two best friends, and my next-best friends are getting married as well. We didn't know when until just a couple of days ago. Guess when. Yeah... early October.

Both are doing a weekend in early October. These other two friends are getting married in Orlando, and have asked, if I'm available, if I would help take some of the family kids (cousins, neices, nephews, etc) through the Magic Kingdom sometime while everyone's in town. I would *love* to. :bounce:

I'm just hoping they don't pick the same weekend.

And yes, I did tell these two that I'd already committed to attending my best friends' wedding in Chicago and the date, so I *REALLY* hope they'll decide on either the weekend before or after (since they don't have a *DAY* yet, just timeframe), or even for that matter a different day in such a time when I could fly to Chicago one day, attend best friends' wedding (and go up a day or two early for a DIS meet and pre-wedding festivities), then fly down to Orlando from Chicago to attend the other friends' wedding.

Wow, sounds like Orlando is going to be a very busy month for you.

I'm just a little confused. Do you have 2 or 3 weddings to go to?

And if it's 3, where is the third besides Orlando and Chicago?

Two.

Best friends 1(f) and 2(m) are getting married to each other in Chicago in early Oct.

Next-best-friends and DH's best friends 3(m) and 4(f) are getting married to each other in Orlando, also sometime in early Oct.

Chicago couple has their date set and has had it set for several months.

Orlando couple just decided on October a few weeks ago.

Hope it works out for you.

I just ran into same thing. My cousin who is like a best friend and long time GF are getting married in Nov. I had been holding my breath, we have cruised booked for Nov 14. So they announce date on Xmas - whew!! Nov 6. Thank goodness.

If they know your comitted maybe they will take that into consideration.

Nope, not going to be *in* either wedding. But the Chicago one is for my two best friends in the world. I already told them I'd be there to support them, and if I *have* to, I'll pick theirs over the other friends'.

The other friends are just asking me to help chapperone (sp?) the kids as someone who knows the parks well, enjoys the parks, likes kids, and can be an extra set of eyes to help the family out. Not in the *wedding*, but in the pre- or post-wedding activities.

I just really don't want to have to choose between my two sets of friends. :)

Hopefully because they know that you want to go that they will schedule their wedding for another weekend.

I hope everything works out, and maybe you'll even get to go to MNSSHP while you're in Orlando.

Well, the main theing, Tammi, is working in the DIS meet here in Chicago. :p :bounce: ;) The rest wwill take care of itself, or themselves, LOL.

If you have let the second group know you already have a commitment for the first group, I would think you are covered.

Just don't forget to give us time to plan too. :teeth:

I'm hoping the Orlando group can work around that weekend, but they have to work around their family and school schedules, and that's much more important. I'm just crossing my fingers I can do both. :bounce: Because, regardless of where they are, I want to be there for both of them. The Orlando couple have been friends with us for 3 years now. But while I only met the Chicago couple a year and a half ago, they're both like my brother and sister now and are very much the closest friends I've had in years. I don't want to let either one of them down.

Oh well, I guess if they end up scheduling them at the same time, I can go to the Chicago one since they were scheduled first and I'm closer to them, and DH can go to Orlando since he's closer to that couple.

Dan -- once we have more info (like how far in advance they want me/us to come up, which I know they want to do a little in advance because she wants to show me around Chicago) I'll let y'all know so we can schedule a meet. :)
