Hoping I just hung up with a new CM;)

We are considering buying DVC resale and wanted to check regular rack rate for a 2BR villa at BLT or AKL during the week in March we plan to travel next year (2013!). Since I wanted to check rates past 12/31 I could not do it online.

The CM I just hung up with (after 45 minutes!) swares to me that there is not ANY villa available at ANY DVC hotel (he says he checked studio, 1BR, and 2BR all views) during March or April 2013! :confused3

He kept telling me that the only availability he had was club level in a beach club villa-which I don't even think exists, does it? I know there are club level suites, but not villas, right?

Anyway, I hung up after he told me he had been working very hard to try to find a room for me but he could not.

UHG!

DVC rooms are not released that far out. They are not owned by Disney, they are owned by the members or DVC itself. DVC controls them, their first responsibility is availability to the members. When members tradeout, DVC will send rooms to CRO or send the rooms that they own. But usually not before 10 or 11 months ahead.

The only club level DVC is Animal Kingdom Villas. And there are only 10 two bedroom lockoffs (can be split into studio & 1 bedroom).

Members can't even book until 11 months out (home resort) or 7 months out (non-home-resort).

Why don't you just look at the 2012 rates & add a percentage for next year's markup? FWIW, be careful with March dates. Easter is early next year so be sure to "float" that Peak Season pricing if it applies.

Makes sense. I was just trying to find out the price of the rooms we would be looking at if we do buy DVC. I assumed that they had somewhat separate inventories and that CRO had a certain number to start but I guess in the off chance that they sold out the DVC members would be in trouble!

Thanks for clarifying.

The CM kept telling me that they are "seeing most people booking over a year ahead." I explained that I was still able to pullup a 2BR at BLT for xmas week. I asked if the rooms had maybe not been released yet. Oh well...now I understand.

Thank you!

Here are the Mousesavers links to the rack rates for BLT and AKV. Note they are the 2012 rates, Disney hasn't released the 2013 rates yet. But it'll give you a ballpark of how much they cost.

If you buy resale, it will take about 60 days to close and be able to use your points. You probably could find BLT Lake view available, but theme park view will probably be booked. You could also probably get AKV. But this is based on owning at either BLT to book there further out than seven months or owning at AKV to book there as a home resort.
