Hi! I am debating which one to carry in the parks...the Thirty one Cinch bag that acts as more of a backpack or the Vera Bradley hipster? I used my Disney small Dooney last year and while I love it, it was sooo small for all day use. My DH usually carries the "family backpack" and mine is just for some medicines, extra drinks packets, etc. Thoughts?

Thanks!! :)

I have both. I'm carrying the Vera. It's smaller so by default I won't get stuck lugging as much junk!

I always carry my hipster and I love it!! It is big enough to hold everything we need!! Plus it is tall enough to hold maps and my hidden Mickey book!!

I used the 31 cinch bag for our recent DL and San Diego trip and it worked great for us, but I did need to carry an extra outfit for a newly potty trained toddler and our DSLR camera (in a neoprene case).

Dh wasn't with us the whole trip and we didn't want to bring the stroller in the morning so I carried the extra outfit, camera, my wallet, sunscreen, a water bottle more myself and my youngest and a few snacks. The older two carried their own cinch bag with their autograph books, water bottles and hats.

It worked well for us but it sounds like I needed to carry a bit more than you do this trip.

I did buy my DD a cinch one this year to carry her stuff. So, I could always put what I couldn't fit in hers...;)

Will you have a stroller? I take most of our stuff in a folding shopping sack, like the kind they sell in the disney store. Then once in the parks that bag goes in the stroller basket and stays there for the entire day until we need it. (we get a city mini stroller from magic stroller)

I carry my valuables in a Vera Bradley Lizzy. Smaller and much lighter. Fold your map in half and tuck it in the front pocket. :thumbsup2

I used my medium-sized longchamp on our last trip. While it's not a cross-body bag (it holds like a regular pocketbook), I found it to be comfortable and it definitely held EVERYTHING!

No, no stroller this trip. I am excited about that but also nervous because of the extra "space" we are losing. I am happy that I don't have to fight with it (the stroller) on buses, monorail, etc but not looking forward to the whining that will probably ensure after a long day of
walking :rotfl:
Thanks for the tip on the Lizzy, I will check that one out too!:)

I will have to check this one out too! You can never have too many bags/purses in my opinion! ;)

How old is your 31 cinch bag? The reason I ask is because if it's more than about 18 months old, it may not do as well. I used one at WDW once, and it got a hole in the bottom. I wasn't even carrying a lot in it, just sunscreen, Chapstick, Purell, and my wallet. After that trip, my friend that sells 31 told me they were reinforcing the bottom of those bags. I got a new one, and it hasn't failed me yet!

That's good to know! The one I bought DD to carry is one of the new ones, the ruffle one. I haven't bought myself one yet but thanks for the tip! :thumbsup2

Well...I've carried the Hipster, Lizzy and 31 Cinch Sack and an older model Lands End Small Haul Backpack. I hated the Cinch Sack. The lack of structure in it made everything fall to the bottom and I would have to stop and dig to find anything. With my backpack I could at least keep moving while I was searching (and it had water bottle holders).

The hipster felt too big for me, but the Lizzy was awesome. I now own two and they are my favorite cross-body bags.

Depending when you are going, Vera Bradley is introducing a new crossbody bag between the mini-hipster and regular hipster called the little hipster. I plan on checking that out.

Honestly, my favorite thing now is my REI Lode Waistpack. I started having shoulder pain when carrying my cross-body bags so I switched for my last WDW trip. OMG. I'm in love with that bag!

ThirtyOne has nice cross body bags too. The one I have comes in either black or brown and has a zipper to open for exta storage, but it may have been discontinued. They also have a nice Organizing Shoulder bag. I work with my consultant, so I can obtain the bags fairly easily and quickly. But I'm a big VB fan too.

Thanks for all the tips guys, I will check all of them out! I really appreciate them and I knew I could count on the Disers':thumbsup2
