This is my very 1st trip report and thought I would give it a try.. We planned this trip around May and had intentions of just leaving the day we would checkin to our Resort at Pop Century. Instead we thought we might try to visit Kennedy Space Center and leave a couple days earlier than our actual WDW vacation starting date of Sept. 12-18 since my husband had been off on Friday and Saturdays. My way of thinking is why sit at home those 2 days he had off before our vacation started so I booked Seralago in Kissimmee 2 days prior. We later decided we would wait on KSC and just take advantage of taking our DD's mini golfing and going to Downtown Disney and doing things with them there.
Well this is where the no extra money comes in at. I had been saving change coins all along and had saved up 48.00 in change. I knew some of this change was going to tolls and for doing laundry. I had also put up 480.00 that I had with me. DH was going to take more but guess what he forgot to get it.
Well that goes for the extra things we had planned. My kids were not to happy with that at all. We were on the free dining upgrade plan and of coarse a good bit of the cash we had was to go for tips. I had bought a walmart gas card before we left so we could have for gas but guess what I didn't put enough and ended up having to recharge it and had to add another hundred for that. On our way we had stopped to eat which we used some of the cash. And we had to eat when we got to Seralago so we ended up getting a pizza combo that came with a 2ltr coke. We had bagels for our breakfast that we had taken with us. We cancelled our mini gold plans with 2 very unhappy girls and kept our DTD plans. At DTD we just walked around taking pictures and walking thru the shops and shared 2 meals at Rainforest Cafe between the 4 of us. That night we had leftover pizza. Sunday finally arrived for us to checkin at Pop Century. My main goal for the week was to be able to get to do the Pick a Pearl at Japan. I had wanted to do this the last 2yrs but just didn't get a chance to do it. Since we were running so low on the cash I just let my DD's do it. The 1st day we went to Epcot and we headed straight to world showcase. We bought the 2 oysters and my DD's picked out their shells. They opened my oldest DD"s shell 1st and she got a white 7 1/4 mm pearl. Then they opened my youngest DD's shell and guess what, she had 2 6 1/2mm pearls. So needless to say they got the twin pearls and I got the 7 1/4. I told my husband I wanted him to have me a ring made for Christmas. We didn't get Park Hoppers this year to save some money and everyday we got to the parks it seemed we chose the wrong park. The crowds seemed enormous but the attraction lines were minimal some were basically walk on. We chose most all our TS at night and most were around the 5:00 hr. and the girls decided instead of going back to the park they wanted to go back to the resort to swim. They got to swim M-Th. They wanted to swim on Sunday night but a huge storm come thru that dampened that. The rest of the week was perfect but hot. Friday night we got to stay for the electrical parade and wishes. Afterwards we decided to stay awhile before heading to the bus. When we do get to the bus line it was backed up to no end seemed like. Pop's bus stop is #18 and the line when we got to it was backed up to bus stop 15.
But another thing that we had not gotten to do that I would have like to have done but the kids wanted to swim instead was to go 1 night to see the water parade. Well we got to see it come thru while waiting in that line. Saturday came and we slept in a bit and then got all our bags to our car and headed to the food court. We had shared a CS meal 1 day during the week so we ended up having 5 CS meals between the 4 of us. Man that was alot of food. Also we had saved most of our snack credits and the girls were able to get alot of snacks to go back with us. After worrying all week about having enough money we ended up having just enough money to stop on the way back home to get dinner. I think my DH definetly learned his lesson about not taking extra money and will not forget it next time..
Guess what we are planning our 4th trip..
Thanks for reading my 1st trip report...
