So, I need some advice from you guys. I'm thinking of switching to digital to try and save some money, and I'm wondering how it all works. I've already got Photoshop Elements 5, but I don't know how to get started with it all. Is there a book that you guys would recommend to show different techniques??

Since you've already got PSE5, I'd recommend doing a search for some online tutorials (either written or video). I'm pretty sure a lot of the big digi sites have either.

In my case, I had PSE first before I started scrapping; I was using it for collages & photo editing. I had learned the program from Photoshop Elements Techniques mag & website, and Scott Kelby's PSE books for digi photographers, plus I had a copy of Barbara Brundage's Missing Manual for PSE. Then, when I began to switch to digiscrapping, I looked into sites that offered specifics about scrapping to learn things about shadowing & stuff.
