Thinking Of Small Add On Bcv

We currently own at VWL and have the 150 points. We travel there about 2 weeks out of the year.

We were thinking of buying a small add on at BCV to stay there in a studio during the F&W Festival (60 points, studio, weekday).

Ok, then I finally went and saw the presentation, I didn't get that when we bought VWL because we bought resale.

So, we are shown that we can stay 1 week in a villa, at many places around the world, through Interval International for 124 points and a $75.00 fee.

So, now I am confused... We really have enough points to stay at Disney for the 2 weeks in a studio with our WL contract.

I am debating the following;
Buy the 60 points for BCV, stay there an have a nice week in the fall. Save points left over from VWL to try the Interval vacations. So maybe every other year go outside of Disney?

Buy lower cost points through resale, like at HH or VB and take Disney trips and much more. I could get 1/3 more points for the initial investment, this way. Then only use these points to travel outside of Disney?

I am sure many of you have thought about the above 2 possibilites, when considering add on etc. I was wondering if I could get some opinions on what is the best option.

Also, could someone tell me when the OKW, HH, VB points expire :confused3

I know everyone here has such great idea, so maybe there are other idea's I have not thought about or considered.

Thank you in advance :flower3:

OKW, HH and VB points expire in 2042. And I am not a timeshare trading expert, but my understanding is that DVC is not a particularly cost efficient to buy for the expressed purposes of trading out. There are other timeshares which give you that same opportunity for lower buy-in and maintenance costs.

Also, keep in mind that dues at places like VB are high. So you might get a lower cost per point on buy-in but quickly pay more in maintenance fees to eat up any "savings" you got with the lower price per point.

I have seen many posts on DIS saying that buying DVC points to use mainly outside WDW DVC resorts is a bad idea and not cost effective.

I knew if I just asked, I would find the answers.

Now that I think about it, I do believe I have read the same thing a long time ago about the efficient use of points.

I am going to put a request into our guide to purchase the 60 points at BC.

If every few years we have some extra points that we have to use, then we will consider going outside the network. I am not ready to jump into a different kind of timeshare, yet...

Thanks for the reminders and help.
