We've lived here for 14 years and like it. The cost of living is the biggest negative, in my opinion. Traffic is bad, too, but of course that might not be depending on where you live, how far you have to drive, etc. I'm a SAHM, my DH works at home, so we can time most of our driving to avoid rush hour.
I think that the weather is a big plus. We have all four seasons--a hot summer, colorful fall, cold winter, and beautiful spring. The summer is hot enough to swim and get the feeling that it's indeed summer (hot and humid), but it doesn't last forever. Fall can be warm, like this fall, or cool/cold. Winter is not real severe, but usually we get some snow. Sometimes we get a lot of snow and sometimes just a little. We are often on the rain/snow line. In the spring all the flowers and flowering trees are very nice. Again, the weather can be cold or warm/hot.
Where would you be looking at? We're in Montgomery County, about 45 minutes from Washington DC and west of Baltimore.
