Hi everyone ~ This is my first time here and I wanted to post to get any info I can. I'm planning my honeymoon for Sept and am thinking about Disney. Any info would be great! Thanks.

hi K&L9405 & welcome to the disboards. we are getting married at wdw next march & this site has been so much help.

is this your 1st trip to wdw? there are many romantic hotels on property. we enjoy the animal kingdom lodge savannah view, there's a great view of the animals from your balcony & the resort has a very exotic atmosphere & decor. there's also the boardwalk inn with its nostalgia & entertainment complex of dining, dancing & bars or a romantic stroll on the boardwalk, its very relaxing & upbeat at the same time or the yacht club with its simple elegance and mini water park pool, there's the wilderness lodge with a warm rustic vibe, the premier grand floridian with the monorail and massages/treatments at the spa. there's also the polynesian with its hammocks on the beach, the port orleans riverside with its magnolia bend mansion rooms & carriage rides ro a casita at the coronado springs. there are also special events you can plan like ps's for like the world showcase restaurants, cinderella's royal table in the magic kingdom castle or a behind the scenes tour like dolphins in depth, segway or keys to the kingdom. there is also downtonw disney, boat rentals, parasailing, horse back riding and specialty cruises.

make sure if you honeymoon at wdw to buy the mickey & minnie wedding ears you will typically get many congratulations & special treatment. and mention it is your honeymoon when making a reservation, disney will typically try to do something extra. september normally has nice weather down in florida, relatively uncrowded (majority of kids are in school) and its value season so you will save a bundle on room rates.

Check out www.allearsnet.com to see photos of all of the different resort rooms, pool areas, etc. The site also lists a "fact sheet" for each of the different resorts. The site is very helpful in seeing which resort appeals to you. They also have the menus listed for all of the restauraunts at WDW. Happy planning, and welcome to the Dis! :flower:

Welcome and congratulations!
My husband proposed during our 2002 trip to WDW so we thought it was only right to visit WDW for our honeymoon. WE had an amazing time! :cool1: There is so much to see and do and doing it together as husband and wife makes it even more magical! Be sure to get bride and groom ears-you will get lots of congrats and maybe even a few perks.
We did all the parks and a water park as well. We also did some special dinners at California Grill during fireworks, and a favorite of ours, Portobello Yacht Club. We went to the spa at the Grand Floridian together for couple's massage which was wonderful! Be sure to note on your room reservation and any dining reservations you make for the trip that it is your honeymoon. We were lucky enough to get a room upgrade, free desserts and discounts here and there making our honeymoon even better!!
:)
