i haven't been no the boards lately...i think my last post was probably early may or something....health problems with my dad, so i've been pretty busy with taking him to doctor appointments.

anywhooo....we cancelled an early may trip to tend to my dad, so now i'm thinking of re-booking a trip in september (since we kinda know where my dad will be in his treatment for his advanced rectal cancer). i know most schools will be back in session...so i'm just wondering when would be a good time to go in september. i was looking either 9/12 to 9/19...or should we do 9/19 to 9/26? any advice?

First of all, I am sorry about your dad.

There is a Disney Expo Sept 10-13th. The anniversary event for the HM is the same week. We were originally scheduled for these dates and moved it to the 17th-20th. Hoping that was the right thing to do. :)

hmmm...maybe we'll do sept 17th to the 24th...getting excited! :cool1:

It seems that week will be crowded. We are there Sept 12-20. There is a homeschool convention and another convention at the DLH. The Orange schools are off on Sept. 16, and Anaheim appears to be on half days on the 16th and 17th. There is another thread about the schools. By looking at the AP calendar, the AP rates are either already gone or as high as summer. In fact, June AP prices are cheaper than Sept. If you do decide to go, there is a thread either on this page or page 2 about super rates at the GCH through the homeschool convention. If the rates are still open (someone booked yesterday), GCH standard view is $195 through this convention. You do not have to be a member to get the rate, from what I understand, but do come by the convention and ask some questions about homeschooling. You might be persuaded. I know that if I hadn't been homeschooling during the years that I took care of my dad after his cancer surgery up to his death, I don't know how I would have been able to do it. It was great to be able to work the schoolwork around my fathers appointments and care instead of the other way around. I hope it goes well with you and taking care of your father. The rates at the GCH through this convention can't be beat! Come and take a break. Coming from experience, you will need it and deserve it!!!!!:grouphug:
