After looking at the location, the price and what is offered I think we might be going with a SOG VR. I am wondering if anyone can offer some advice on this. I was also interested in getting a violinist for the music. Can you recommend a vendor? I heard they play music over with an ipod. Just wondering what everyone's opinion is and if is all that bad. I would love to see pics of weddings if you have them. Also, is the wedding Gazebo the best choice of the three locations offered and what time are the ceremonies offered? Also wanted to add that I just read you have to have been in the military or be sponsored by someone that is in the military to have a shades of green wedding. Is this true?

Thanks,
Sc

Okay just heard back from Shades of Green. They said you have to have someone sponsor you and they must be present for the wedding. I guess that is out since we do not have anyone that could do this. That sucks because the pricing is so perfect. Wish I could pull a military family to the side and ask them to sponsor and join the part. LOL Ugh.. I am looking at other options. Any advice?

Okay this may be really far fetched, but is there any possibility of paying someone to sponsor you and them show up for the ceremony at Shades of Green? Just curious.

Okay spoke with SoG and it is not gonna happen. It just bites because my grandfather was retired military, my dad was military and my husband's uncle and cousins were retired military. We are either estranged from those family members or they have already passed on.

Paying someone so you could have your wedding there could get them in big trouble if even they may not know it themselves. Essentially you would be renting their military ID card and that is a HUGE no-no. Altought SOG isn't the same as a base I seen people that have gotten kicked out of the military for abusing their privileges, I've also seen other forms of punishment because their spouse or child did the same. Of course I'm not saying that this is THAT extreme but still.

Right, and I understand that, but let's face it's not unheard of in this day and age. That being said we are not military so we are not doing a SoG renewal. It is a beautiful venue and I am glad to see that there are options for military personal.
