Thinking of Buying at BCV

We are considering buying at BCV's after researching for the past 6 months. I noticed something in a post on here about free rooms at a resort if you are purchasing a DVC membership. The post said in a casual comment that the number of nights depends on the number of points purchased. Since we are planning a short notice trip in 2 weeks and have been considering the DVC purchase this might put us over the edge to buy, if there is such a deal. Does anyone know anthing about this?

Also, are there any other incentives or deals (other than the resale market) that we should be aware of or ask for?

Thanks.

With a new purchase you would have to buy the minimum of 150 points which would qualify you for the incentive. The incentive was a choice of nights or $5 per point off the purchase price. I believe it was 3 nights in a deluxe or moderate and increased with a larger purchase. This would be subject to availability of reservations. If you are interested, you might want to call DVC and discuss your options.

Thanks. Pam. Does anyone know the current price for points at BCV's and if there is a planned increase anytime soon? I think I read something about a May increase.

current price is $75/point. It is supposed to increase to $80/point June 1st, but we all know that they can move that date up to whenever they choose :)

With a 150 point purchase you get a 5 night stay (3 nights was for a 100 point add on). Stays are SUBJECT TO AVAILIBILITY and must be used by July1, 2003 I believe.

My understanding from this board is that sales are going well. The incentives were thought to be available through May, but there are no guarantees and thier continued availability may be in question. With the $5 off per point, the resulting $70 per point price was inticing enough for us to move forward an add an additional home resort at teh BCV, sight 1/2 unseen (we've walked around the BC grounds, seen the lobby, SAB, some of the location, etc.) If you compare the actual rooms, it also looks like they have made some minor improvements, like the table and available seating for it, looks like a little larger three cushion couch instead of BWV 2 cushion couch, bathroom setup, etc.

Your other option if you like the Cresent Lake area would be to look for a BWV resale. It is a wonderful resort.

Best wishes with your decision. Perhaps we'll soon be neighbors.

If you are planning on using the free nights for your trip in two weeks, it won't be possible. You cannot book the free nights until after you have signed the papers, returned them to DVC and wait the 15 day recission period, in case you change your mind. And that doesn't allow for the time it takes for DVC to send the papers to you to begin with which is usually 10-14 days. So you are talking a minimum of 25 days before you can book it and then they must be booked at least 7 days in advance. Sorry!
