We are going in Dec and I am already thinking ahead to maybe going next summer as well. We will be using 6 days of tickets in Dec. If I upgrade to say 12 and add the no expiration option, and then book just a hotel ressie for the 2nd trip will I be able to add DDP (paid of course) The DDP is one of my families fav. parts of the trip.

Basically I am wondering if it would be worth it to upgrade and save the tickets or just buy another complete pkg. for next trip.

You have to purchase a package in order to get the DDP unless you are a DVC member staying on points. Currently, the DDP is attached to the number of nights of your stay instead of the number of days on the ticket. So, you could do only a one day MYW base ticket with a 7 night stay and your DDP would be for all seven nights and you could use up your remaining no expiration ticket days.

Keep in mind that Disney has not released any information about the DDP and they could very well decide to attach it to park days in 07.

Thanks for the info.

You know, what we did one year was bought 7 day non-expiration tickets with the "plus" visits (I think it was 5 to a waterpark or Disneyquest). We went back later that year and bought a one day MYW base ticket but stayed 4 days and used leftover admissions from the old tickets. Then, when we went this year we just bought parkhoppers with our package and used waterpark/Disneyquest days from the no-expiration tickets. We STILL have 1 park day and 1 waterpark/DQ day left on those original tickets. The "plus" visits really stretch out how many times you can use a no-expiration ticket.

The maximum number of days for passes is 10. For 12 days, you may want to look at an annual pass. You can upgrade a 1 day ticket that you get with your DDP package and apply it to the annual pass.
