Service dog counted in room limit?

Hi everyone,

Quick question…has anyone stayed at a pet-friendly Disney resort with a service dog and additional pet dogs?

I know service dogs are not considered pets under the ADA, but I’m unsure how Disney applies the 2-pet-per-room limit when a service dog is involved.

If you’ve had a service dog plus one or two pet dogs in the room, did Disney count the service dog toward the limit?

Just trying to plan correctly and follow policy. Thanks in advance!

And please let us know what they say. My first thought is that service dogs shouldn't count, any more than walkers count as luggage when I fly. They're both required for Health reasons (ADA), so I think no charge. But I don't know.

Yes, I sent an email to Disney and I’m just waiting for their reply. I figured I would post here as well in case anyone has firsthand experience. I’ll be sure to update you all once I hear back. Thank you!

Agree with contacting WDW — maybe the Special Needs line. A service animal shouldn’t impact “occupancy” — however they may consider a maximum of 2 animals meaning 1 pet and 1 service dog. It should not count towards the pet fee.
