Thinking about renting points for Dec. 2008

Unfortunately I can't make the final decision until August. My union contract is up in then and I have to wait until I find out if I'm going on strike. No strike, Disney 6-15. Do I have a chance of being able to get a room that late? I do have a reservation at a moderate, so I won't be roomless, I just wanted to try renting points.

Depending on how flexible you will be with room size and resort you may get lucky. DVC is very busy during those times so it is doubtful you will get VWL or BCV I would probably rank your chances worst to best:

VWL
BCV
BWV
AKV
SSR/OKW

But you never know - I would not say no!

I have booked DVC using rented points the last two years in August for the
2nd week of Dec. Never had a problem getting what I wanted. In Dec. '06
we had a 2br at SSR and last Dec. '07 we had a studio at OKW. Good Luck!

Disney allows members to rent their points to non-members.

there is a board 'DVC rental/trade' here that allows you to rent your points if you want too.
