Thinking about ordering from Schwans - what's good?

Never ordered from them before but my DH was talking about how he used to love their pizzas. If you order from them, what do you like?

When I was younger, we'd always get the Egg Rolls. They're really good. And the ice cream is pretty quality.

We like the lasagne and chicken pot pies. Nice for when you don't feel like cooking a meal.

Also, like those mini cinnamon donuts that you just warm-up in the oven.

I purchased from Schwans for many years and can't remember ever getting anything that we really disliked. Their quality is really very good. I especially liked their individual dinners - the blackened chicken alfredo was especially yummy! All of my sisters buy from them, too. The only reason I stopped is my driver was promoted and they did not have someone to fill in on my route. When they did I decided that I was saving alot of money shopping at the grocery store. (I had a bad habit of impulse buying from the truck! I spent over my budget every time.)

They also have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you buy something that you feel is not up to quality, they will give you a complete refund. I had ice cream cones that somehow softened then refroze and the cone was gross. They gave me a replacement on the spot, no question asked.

The spicy chicken breast filet is wonderful! Really good on salads and it tastes just like the spicy chicken filet from Wendy's (my DH and I's fast food weakness).

I also really like their quarter pound beef patties, though they are not "beefy" enough for DH. He likes a bigger burger, but it makes a perfect lunch for me with a salad.

The veggies that I've tried have all been really good. Better quality than frozen veggies that I've tried from the grocery store.

Also, do yourself a favor and try the silvermint ice cream bars! DH loves mint ice cream and these are his favorite!

I liked the chicken cordon bleu they had, I got those every time.....
They had a cheese stuffed bread ring we liked, I would get pizza's, ice cream, cinnamon rolls. We liked almost everything we tried but our regular driver quit/left and they never put anyone else on our route.......

For many years we bought from the Schwan's truck. It was especially nice once we had a rapport with the driver. We stopped when there was a constant change over in the drivers and when they kept discontinuing everything we liked (Burgandy Beef roast, spinach and artichoke bowls <sigh>). Over all, we liked the quality of the products, except for the bread, which we found flat tasting.

The ice cream is first rate. The frozen fruit and veggies are also very good. Because we live in California in an agricultural community, I didn't order the frozen produce very often. We can get fresh too easily to use frozen much. But were I living in an area where produce is harder to come by, I'd definitely buy from them.

I haven't had Schwan's since I was a kid, but oh man, their ice cream & frozen novelties were SO good!! I also remember loving their pizza rolls (though not sure if they have them anymore).

My next door neighbor gets Schwan and it's the first time I've seen a truck around in about 15 years... if it were not for the fact that we have a very strict food budget & I do better couponing, I'd absolutely order from them.

big fan of the frozen veggies!! Best quality veggies hands down!
Also I keep a bag of fried rice and rice pilaf in the freezer cause it is ez and quick too.
I used to keep the carmel rolls in the freezer when my kids were home. It was nice for sleep overs breakfast.

The lemon ice cream is awesome..

Just about everything they sell is good but my favorites are the lemon pepper chicken, the sweet corn and the mixed vegetables.

Love Schwan's...the ice cream is wonderful! We love the pot pies, bacon, breakfast sausage, boneless pork chops. My kids like the mozzarella sticks.

REd baron pizza is made by Schwans. Ice cream is great. I loved their cheesy chix broc mix. I personally found a lot of their things were going down in quality but up in price last I used them. not to metion the whole is driver showing up this week or not.

The macaroni and cheese is really good. It comes in single or multi-serve. When we had more kids at home than now, we frequently had an extra neighbor kid join us for dinner. The mac & cheese was a great way to stretch the entree, veggie and fruit.
The chicken stuffed with cheese and broccoli is something we like. And we really like the rotisserie chicken.
Blueberry pucks....yum! Bake those for a morning muffin.

My kids love the mini-breakfast pizzas and the funnel cake fries.

I *love* the cones- both the mint and the rocky road cones. One time some neighborhood kids were over and DH handed over some of my cones when they wanted a snack. I corrected him quickly! The Schwann's cones are mine! The Otter pops are for guests!
