Thinking about joining DVC

Does anyone have any good or bad points that i should be aware of before I join DVC? and also I understand that I can get an additional 15% off if im referred by a member, would someone like to refer me to DVC?

I sent you a PM. I would advise purchasing a smaller contract and adding on later rather than a larger one. If you ever need or want to sell, a smaller contract is easier to sell or you may want a smaller contract later and could sell off one then. Other advice: read these boards. there is alot of info on here. I wish I knew about them long ago!

I happen to love it!

I joined DVC with OKW in 93 and still love it.

It can be as exciting or relaxing as you want your trips to be.

I agree with nestlejean, these boards are a GREAT help!

Have you had the opportunity to visit any of the DVC properties? If so, which is your favorite? That might be the best place to buy.

The 12 extra years of ownership at SSR makes it very appealing as well, especially if you like the resort.

Nestlejean also made a good point about buying smaller contracts and adding on later if needed.

WELCOME! We're newbies and after our first trip home I can tell you we couldnt' be more pleased. We usually went to WDW once or twice a year staying at moderates or deluxes and then this year we took the plunge. We should have done it years ago but its definately not for everyone!
You have to decide what is right for you. ENJOY!!

Does this 15per cent off include sold out resorts like OKW.....I thought it only referred to SSR....My daughter is about to buy a resale at OKW...Should I be ringing MS and asking for a discount

Thye 15% off discount is only for SSR. The other sold put resorts are not at 15% off right now. She can go ahead with her OKW resale if she wants!
